POSITION SUMMARY:Acts as a resource within a development and/or project team to facilitate testing and verify the accuracy of software solutions developed by the organization. The position requires expertise in Credit Union products and experience in a variety of software solutions including internet, client server, and server based products.

ESSENTIAL POSITION FUNCTIONS:Works directly with development team, product owners, and deployment staff to ensure quality software releases.Responsible for executing QA plans, scripts, and perform discovery work independently to verify software accuracy and report defects or escalate discrepancies in software solutions.Reports issues through a variety of software tracking systems and works closely with development staff, product owners, and product deployment to verify the accuracy of software solutions.Provides status reports and investigates reasons anomalies in software solutions may be occurring.Develops and maintains testing scripts and testing documentation.Identify, log, track and certify software application problems.Develop, write, revise, verify and implement software test plans and strategies.Interact with project teams to ensure high quality product requirements, design, construction and release.Maintains and manages client specific documentation and requirements.Provide accurate and timely estimates for QA timelines and effort.Trains other members on testing procedures and troubleshooting.Attends regular client project meetings, prepares brief correspondence and reports, verbally communicates testing progress, follows up and researches questions and needed information.Interacts with managers, and technical staff from different credit union clients on a regular basis.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:Bachelor’s Degree and 2-3 years of experience in a related field required.Equivalent experience level may offset educational requirement.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Possess strong understanding of credit union operations with focus on Symitar product knowledge. (NICE TO HAVE)Must understand basic mobile phone operating systems and architecture. (NICE TO HAVE)Working knowledge of .NET applications. (NICE TO HAVE)Must demonstrate excellent communication skills, both written and oral.Must have the ability to coordinate multiple projects at the same time.Strong organizational and problem solving skills required.Must possess strong analytic skills.Working knowledge of quality assurance methodologies.Ability to meet with high level resources to work through software solutions.Knowledge of the development of test plan engineering, automated/manual test case creation and execution for applications.Knowledge of bug/issue identification strategies, bug reporting, and bug tracking through resolution. Working knowledge and experience of software tracking systems (i.e., TFS and Salesforce).Ability to extract software testing points form requirement and functional specification in order to create effective software test scripts.Working knowledge of quality assurance methodologies.May require occasional after hours testing for systems installed, upgraded or patched.
