Description: Do you have a passion for working on emerging technologies and results-oriented projects with the ability to drive significant long-term solutions? The Fleet Ballistic Missile (FBM) program is looking for an experienced and driven engineer with a passion for modernizing our manufacturing capabilities through implementation of model-based engineering tools and technologies across the program. This critical initiative, executed through the Chief Engineer's office, provides you with the opportunity to work with multiple program organizations, engage with the LM Space Business Transformation Office, and collaborate with our Navy partners on their parallel Digital Engineering effort. You will focus on how we adopt, enable, and integrate new manufacturing practices to leverage a model-based enterprise and establish a complete lifecycle digital thread.As the Lead for MBE manufacturing integration on FBM, you will work in the Chief Engineer 's office collaborating with the Sr. Manager for MBE Implementation and the MBE core team. You will be counted on to ensure the seamless integration of engineering models and data into manufacturing and production areas. This includes executing an additive manufacturing (AM) strategy with best value to FBM and our Navy customer. Responsibilities for this position include: Supporting the execution of the program MBE strategic roadmap by leading efforts to further define the vision, strategy, and implementation for consistent development and execution of manufacturing (including AM) across the engineering lifecycle Exploring and implementing advanced manufacturing capabilities, processes, and techniques to integrate data across functional domains Define and drive the overall strategy for additive manufacturing on FBM including AM techniques, materials definition, and training in collaboration with Parts, Materials and Processes (PMP) engineers Ensure new capabilities and processes maintain producibility standards (Design for Manufacturing/ Additive Manufacturing/ Assembly) Eliciting customer/stakeholder needs and requirements for AM advancements on the program Enhancing a culture of model-based development Engaging other manufacturing engineers in a broader understanding of manufacturing activities and assisting them in developing standardized tools, processes, and associated work products Incorporation of MBSE into the design function and transition of design to manufacturing and production functions Engagement with engineering and manufacturing stakeholders to support implementation of the digital engineering lifecycle workflow process Working with the LM Space IT & Digital Enablement (IT&DE) and 1LMX organizations to ensure alignment of Enterprise transformation objectives with FBM objectives Supporting the alignment of the Navy’s Digital Engineering objectives with FBM manufacturing objectives Leading collaborative teams that include customer and industry partnersBasic Qualifications: Ability to interpret drawings, Computer-Aided Design (CAD) models, product/performance specifications, and other systems integration technical data Experience with and understanding of Manufacturing / Assembly / Production processes and procedures Experience with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) Experience with additive manufacturing and other manufacturing processes Previous experience implementing change to improve processes / Process Improvement experience Demonstrated effective communication skills including verbal, listening, technical writing, and presentations Demonstrated effective interpersonal skills, including team building, collaboration, and developing enduring business relationships Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve technical/process issues varying from basic to very complex Proficient in MS Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) Understanding stakeholder needs and defining appropriate solutions Knowledge of and experience in EPDM/Windchill and SAP/ERP systems Ability to obtain a DoD Secret clearanceDesired Skills: Experience in design for manufacturing/assembly or design to cost Experience with development programs and/or conceptual designs Experience working with Government customers Knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles Broad knowledge and application of processes across engineering functions (e.g. system and design, system requirements, analysis, manufacturing, test, system validation and verification) Experience working in an agile environment, including the use of Confluence and Jira Knowledge of Model Based Engineering/Digital Transformation concepts, definitions, and approaches Experience developing new business plans and supporting strategic initiatives Quick thinker, fast learner/proactive, problem solver, creative, critical thinking skills Provides and develops solutions to a variety of technical modeling problems of varying scope and complexity Willingness to travel for short durations as necessary to support program needs Fleet Ballistic Missile (FBM) program experience Current DoD Secret clearanceSecurity Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.Clearance Level: SecretOther Important Information You Should KnowExpression of Interest: By applying to this job, you are expressing interest in this position and could be considered for other career opportunities where similar skills and requirements have been identified as a match. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per weekPay Rate:The annual base salary range for this position in Colorado or Washington is $118,100 - $226,400. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only.
