Medical Assistant – CCT (Community COVID-19 Team)

TheMedical Assistant'sprimaryresponsibility is to support Salud’s COVID 19 Vaccination efforts within the service area to include Aurora, Brighton, Commerce City, Estes Park, Frederick, Ft. Collins, Ft. Lupton, Ft. Morgan, Longmont, and Sterling. Excludes Trinidad.

Community vaccination includes working with Schools, local businesses, community events, community hard-to-reach populations as requested. Services are completed via Salud’s mobile vans or within community buildings. Service level varies based on requests for vaccination.

Secondaryresponsibility: On days when Community activities are not scheduled, staff will support the local Salud clinic in their area of expertise.

We offer:

  • Starting wage$17.25 to $19.84 per hr.
  • Monday to Friday – 8am to 5 pm
  • (Occasionally evening or weekend hours may be required based on travel requirements, time to set up or take down equipment, or special events on a weekend day)

A Day in the Life of a Medical Assistant / Medical Support Associate with Salud:

Your genuine spirit of caring welcomes patients as the first step in treatment prior to seeing the Doctor, NP, or PA. You will determine the nature of the patient’s visit and obtain vitals. Your thorough and concise chart documentation will provide clear necessary communication. You will maintain a clean and organized environment for both patients and staff.

Qualifications

What you need to be qualified for this job:

  • Ability to work will all people in all walks of life and to meet them in their place of need
  • Current Medical Assistant Certificate

MA’s / MSA’s not certified/registered upon hire are required to complete the MA certification/registration testing within 3 months of hire. If an employee does not pass, they will be given an additional 3 months to retake the test.

All Medical Assistants must be certified within 6 months of hire and certification must be maintained throughout employment.

  • MA’s without any formal MA trainingis required to have a current Certification/Registration as a MA.

Please Note: This position REQUIRES a Medical Assistant (MA) Certification. A CNA certification is NOT equivalent to the MA certification and cannot be accepted for this position.

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Successful completion of a formal MA training program, a minimum of 6 months in length, preferred

Experience:

  • Previous healthcare experience preferred but not required
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred

Minimum Requirements

  • Travel is required and the incumbent must be present at the designation location and time either via the mobile van or other means of reliable transportation. Mileage is reimbursed if space is not available on the mobile van
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license in good standing
  • Must be able to left up to 50 lbs
