Position: Senior Move Assistant
Reports To: Senior Move Manager Project Coordinator

Position Overview
Transition Specialist position is one of the most important roles at A Call to Order – Professional Organizers. It requires a great amount of compassion, organization, detail-orientation, coordination, and effective communication skills. The ability to work well in a fast-paced environment, remain calm in stressful situations, and teach members of our multi- person team is necessary.
A Call to Order – Professional Organizers is a Certified Professional Organizer, Certified Senior Move Management, and Home Modification business experienced in downsizing, estate clearing and Certified home organizing company serving seniors and their families and busy professionals since 2008.
We partner with seniors, busy professionals, and their families to effectively manage and organize their major life transitions in downsizing, moving and estate clearing. We develop customized solutions and offer hands- on support and guidance with a unified team approach and a superior client experience.

The role and responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to:
The Transition Specialist plays a vital role in helping aging adults downsize and transition to safer, more suitable living environments. This position requires both physical strength and emotional sensitivity, as you will be assisting clients with significant life changes. You will work closely with a Senior Move Project Coordinator in a collaborative, solutions-focused team setting, providing hands-on support throughout the process. Compassion, patience, and non-judgmental care are essential qualities in this role.
Key Responsibilities
● Assist with Downsizing & Transitioning:
o Assist Project Coordinator in implementation of a non-judgmental approach while handling clients' personal items, respecting their memories and emotional attachments.
o Support aging adults by sorting, packing, and organizing personal belongings, ensuring a smooth and compassionate transition.
o Work directly with clients, offering reassurance and encouragement during the often-challenging downsizing process.
● Physical Support:
o Engage in physical tasks, such as packing boxes, lifting small furniture or belongings, and moving items to designated areas.
o Ensure the physical safety of clients by setting up clear pathways, assisting with mobility when necessary, and creating an overall safe environment.
o Collaborate with the Project Coordinator and follow their lead to determine the best methods for moving, lifting, and transporting items, ensuring safety for clients and staff.
● Client-Centered Care:
o Provide compassionate and attentive care throughout each step of the transition process, from initial consultations to final move-ins.
o Listen actively to clients’ concerns, needs, and preferences, maintaining a patient and respectful demeanor at all times.
o Address any emotional challenges clients may face, offering reassurance and a sense of stability.
● Team Collaboration:
o Work closely with the Project Coordinator and other team members to develop and execute clear plans tailored to each client’s needs.
o Engage in open communication with the team, sharing observations, challenges, and suggestions for enhancing client experiences.
o Demonstrate flexibility, adapting quickly to changes or unexpected needs as they arise, while maintaining focus on delivering the best possible outcome for the client
● Maintain Professionalism:
o Adhere to company policies and procedures, ensuring a consistent, high-quality experience for clients.
o Maintain confidentiality regarding all client information and possessions.
o Arrive punctually and maintain a professional appearance in accordance with company standards
Qualifications:
● Experience:
o Previous experience in caregiving, senior support, or moving/organizing roles is preferred.
o Knowledge of senior move management, professional organizing, or related fields is beneficial.
● Education
o High school diploma or equivalent required.
● Skills:
o Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a focus on empathy and patience.
o Physical stamina and the ability to lift and move items up to 35 pounds.
o Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
o Problem-solving skills, with a solutions-focused mindset in the face of challenges.
● Personal Qualities:
o Compassionate, caring, and understanding of the emotional aspects of downsizing and transitioning.
o Non-judgmental, maintaining an open and supportive attitude throughout the process.
o Team-oriented, with a willingness to collaborate and adapt to meet client needs.
Physical Demands:
o Frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting during the moving process.
o Ability to handle physical tasks in various home environments, which may include stairs and tight spaces.
Work Environment:
o Work is performed in client homes and new living environments.
o Exposure to household conditions typical of residential settings.
Compensation: $18.00 +/hr
