The Network Administrator

assists in the operational support for server operating systems, their services. Provides Tier 1 and Tier 2 operational support, on the job training in IT best practices, process, and protocol.

Detailed job description, including responsibilities, work performed, tools or equipment used, etc.:

  • Layer1 and Layer2 network support and Maintenance
  • Voice call routing Tier 1 support
  • Participation in Local and enterprise-wide IT projects
  • Monitor and correct network performance issues
  • Special projects (research/analyze technical opportunities)
  • Create/Update documentation used by IT staff & end users
  • Plan/Manage Change Management when required
  • Mentoring and Cross-Training of System Specialists
  • Assist Systems Administrator
  • Respond to off-hour emergencies
  • Guide and teach employees; Advise how technology can contribute to SSRC
  • Ensure understanding and compliance with all company policies and procedures as well as any regulatory requirements
  • Other duties, as assigned

Minimum skills, experience, education and ability required for this job:

  • College degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering preferred, or relevant experience
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of previous IT experience and network administration preferred
  • Interconnecting Cisco Networking Devices 1 (ICDN1) or equivalent
  • Interconnecting Cisco Networking Devices 2 (ICDN2) or equivalent
  • Ability to problem solve in a highly effective manner and maintain positive relationships with guests and staff, including management, subordinates and co-workers
  • Ability to be a consistent role model for company’s Service Excellence standards

Physical requirements:

  • Must have ability to clearly read and communicate in English both verbal and written
  • Must be able to operate and sit at computer workstation for extended periods of time
  • Must be able to operate a snowmobile and successfully complete annual snowmobile training.
  • Must be able to ski or ride to all network infrastructure locations on the Mountain
  • Must have a valid Colorado Driver’s License and meet our insurability standards

Miscellaneous information:

  • This is a salaried exempt position and is not subject to overtime pay
  • Employment for this job is contingent upon the successful completion of a background check
  • Position requires working weekends and holidays as needed

The base salary range below represents the low and high end of the Steamboat Ski & Resort Corporation salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to experience, education, training, location, merit system, quantity or quality of production, responsibilities, and regular and/or necessary travel. The range listed is just one component of Steamboat Ski & Resort Corporation’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term and long-term incentives and many region-specific benefits.

Steamboat area base salary range: $57,000 - $84,000 per year
