Mindbank Consulting Group currently has an urgent and immediate need for a Network Engineer.Network Engineer Responsibilities:• Provide technical expertise in the areas of various routers, switches, security and network management devices• Provide overall technical networking expertise throughout the enterprise architecture• Work with DOI Enterprise Services Network (ESN) to manage routers as well as service components for the Active Directory-based enterprise network• Maintain statistics for the network which will include but not limited to: change in file storage and configurations (maximum capacity, actual peak and average capacity used, protocols used, percent of capacity used, and trends), problems encountered, and solutions used• Maintain and collect system uptime data including time to resolve hardware faults• Install, configure, and document any system enhancement. Prepare and maintain all documentation of standard server and workstation setups.• Perform hardware and software evaluation, testing, and integration tasks to determine suitability of new products for the IRTM environment• Install security patches to systems as recommended by vendor in timely manner• Provide technical and cost benefit recommendations for network, hardware and software system upgrades in order to maintain optimum network performance• Monitor and maintain the performance of the network and computer systems, which includes WAN optimization (such as administering the Riverbed Steelhead or other tools)• Recommend, document, and implement any approved changes to the system to improve performance• Administer and maintain the Cisco/Tandberg, Polycom, and Vidyo (VTC/Video/Multimedia conferencing) systems• Provide Tier 2 and Tier 3 Help Desk support to resolve network outages. Log and report each user trouble call. Close out trouble calls on a priority ranking basis.
Network Engineer Requirements:• The contractor must possess the ability to engineer, design, and program, deploy and maintain the following components:o Cisco and Juniper based network routers and OS componentso Cisco and Juniper based network or stand-alone critical software packageso Switches and other network deviceso Riverbed Steelhead (WAN optimization)o Cisco Wireless LAN and Authentication Serverso Windows 2008/2012 OS Servero Open-source components on the Linux platformo Open-source components on the Windows platformo IPv6o VoIP• Cisco CCNA certification is preferred• 5 to 7 years of experienceUS Citizens and those authorized to work in the US are encouraged to apply.We are unable to sponsor visas at this time.Why work for Mindbank?Mindbank has been providing business solutions to Fortune 1000 companies and governmentagencies for over three decades.
