Job Description: The Retail Manager manager manages all aspects of the shop and manages all employees. The Manager works closely with ownership, fellow managers, and hourly employees to make sure that the tea shop runs as efficiently as possible, meanwhile making sure that their staff stays motivated and keeps a positive and friendly work attitude. Their main responsibilities include focusing on goals (sales and averages, monthly competitions), team leadership, team retention, employee training, sales training, payroll, organization, food safety, ordering, all things inventory, and general day to day operations . This individual should be savvy when it comes to organization and attention to detail & should enjoy and be good at working with the general public. The manager should treat the business as if it were their own and take pride in their daily work. A great leader leads by example and that is exactly what this role is about. The retail manager does not tell their team what to do-they show them how it’s done, while at times allowing their team freedom of creativity and initiative. This person must be a go-getter and self motivated!

The roles & responsibilities of the Retail Manager include, but are not limited, to the following:

1. Hiring, training, managing, and terminating all employees

2. Writing all schedules according to projected sales and facilitating all

scheduling to employees.

3. Making deposits, Making change, filing deposit sheets, and updating

monthly folder

4. Upkeep of retail stores, including updating displays, cleanliness, and

organization

5. Inventory tracking and ordering, as well as supplier communication

6. Updating back office and handling shopkeep or Lightspeed issues such as

refunds, inputting inventory, etc.

7. Getting supplies for the business and maintaining the appropriate level of

supplies at all times

8. Shipping packages and receiving all mail - appropriately distributing mail

to appropriate parties

9. Communicating ideas for improvement/solutions for any problems with

ownership

10. Various other tasks to help in the functioning of the business

11. One to two office days per week, dependent upon the season and other store management roles

12. Working full days in the retail stores behind the counter on weekends

and major retail sales days

13. Facilitating all sales contests, focusing on all aspects of sales goals (overall, monthly, average ticket, items/transaction, etc.) and staying within budget guidelines

14. Any additional tasks and/or expectations that may arise.

15. On average, manager works 40 hours/week-very rarely do they exceed 40 hours/week!
