The right candidate will have exposure to grinding and polishing of optical components, fabricating parts to customer specifications.Duties and Responsibilities:Blocking of glass/silicon/ceramic/crystal materials
Grinding, lapping and polishing of materials on automated and manual equipment, including spindles and CPs
Performs precision optics metrology (interferometry, optical part characterization)
Ability to read, follow and understand procedures
Work closely with engineering to develop processes and process documentation
Measure and document process parameters such as slurry pH and concentration
Basic cleaning and visual inspection of optical components.
Proper handling of critical and fragile optical components.
Maintain clean work center and documentation
Basic maintenance and cleaning of fabrication areas
Any other duties as assigned by the Fabrication Manager or his/her designate
Follows all safety training and guidelines
