Packing and shipping handler

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Verify and record incoming and outgoing shipments

Compare information, counts, weight, measurements of items received against the bills of lading, invoices, purchase orders, or other records.

Verify counts, measurement, weight, etc. of outgoing shipments to ensure they meet the expectations of the delivery carrier and the end customer.

Assemble cardboard or wooden containers and pack items safely for delivery according to the work order.

Bind containers with plastic wrapping material or metal tape using strapping machine.

Prepare packages with corresponding shipping labels and load the packages on the appropriate truck either manually or with forklift.

Maintain inventory of shipping materials and supplies.

Operate the company truck to pick up materials / parts needed by production or to make deliveries, as needed.

Be flexible and versatile to fill-in in other areas to meet the needs of ever-changing bottlenecks.
