Job Duties and Responsibilities

Description:We are seeking a professional that is able to operate at the forefront of 5G Cloud Native transformational technology.The AWS Cloud Expert will serve as a technical thought leader and SME for our 5G Cloud Native ecosystem of Dish and Dish partners. You will assist in leading a team that builds automation and services in order to make operating a massive large scale distributed system simple. You will make the development software workflow and systems management integrate together and achieve their objectives of reliability, flexibility and scalability.This role is ideal for someone with a unique blend of SW developer & operational experience (SRE), technical expertise, leadership skillset, and with strong prioritization, facilitation, and communication skills.

Responsibilities:
  • Track industry best practices and evolution of open source based cloud native containerization and open-stack based virtualization platforms
  • Define migration strategy to move application to cloud or modernize existing cloud infrastructure
  • Develop architecture blueprints and detailed documentation
  • Design and implement AWS Virtual Private Cloud VPC test environments including server instance, storage instances, subnets, availability zones, etc.
  • Develop the HA / DR strategies and playbooks with AWS
  • Set up processes, services and tools around cloud
  • Validate the environments meet all security and compliance controls
  • Support of local operations and development teams in their work on databases, back-end software development, front-end websites, and other mission-critical systems
  • Lead and take part in cloud readiness assessments, workshops, roadmap, and application modernization discussions
  • Develop automated solutions to monitor and support our software development and release processes
  • Partner with Program Managers to execute development projects
  • Follow the development life cycle to ensure market requirements are properly captured and implemented in the products and solutions
  • Define Entry/Exit criteria for new software loads/releases migrating fromSandbox > Integration > Pre-production > Production environments
  • Define test cases and evaluate performance behavior of new software releases in integration/pre-production/production environments
  • Support FOA/FFI testing and evaluation

Skills, Experience and Requirements

Education & Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, or related field
  • 10+ years of experience in the design and implementation of IT solutions at scale (including scalable cloud-based solutions and micro services architectures)
  • Hands-on Systems Administration of Windows and/or Linux, networking and troubleshooting experience
  • AWS Solution Architect Associate Certification
  • Strong project and product management experience
  • Background in DevOps, Software Development, Site Reliability, or Systems Engineering
  • Public Cloud infrastructure expertise: Amazon Web Services (AWS), Cloud Formation, Elastic Beanstalk, Azure, Rackspace, Google Cloud Platform
  • Experience with configuration management and continuous deployment
  • Experience working with multiple data centers and servers
  • Experience with NIX system administration, Java, Linux/Unix, Perl and Python
  • Linux System Administration, ideally CentOS, RedHat or SuSE
  • Apache, PHP, Java and MySQL expertise
  • Good familiarity with TCP/IP protocols and applications
  • Good understanding of distributed systems
  • Experience and Certification in ITIL and or Dev Ops
  • AWS Solution Architect Professional Certificate, AWS Developer Professional Certificate
  • Experience with automation to deploy and manage infrastructure, database and networking architectures for Internet-scale applications

Salary RangeCompensation: $115,500.00/Year - $165,000.00/Year
