Northrop Grumman Space Systems (NGSP) is looking for you to join our SMORS BPP team as a Principal Network Engineer based out of Colorado Springs, CO.

What You'll Get to Do:

Candidate will be part of the Hardware Engineering team and assist with network designs and development of network components supporting the SMORS BPP Network. Specific areas include design, implementation, integration, and testing as well as support of the network development life cycle with peer reviews, documentation and configuration management adhering to the project level process plans.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Active Secret security clearance required to start.
  • Must possess a DoD 8570 certification at IAT Level II or higher (Security+, GSEC, SCNP, SSCP, CISSP, CISA, GSE, SCNA).
  • Knowledge of network architecture, engineering, design, implementation, and testing.
  • Understanding of network communication protocols and network routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, and EIGRP) and IP network troubleshooting.
  • Basic knowledge of network testing methodologies using routers, switches, and firewalls.
  • Knowledge of TCP/IP behavior, network communications and routing protocols, network traffic analysis and troubleshooting experience.
  • Certifications in the industry vendor (Cisco or Juniper)
  • Travel may be required including OCONUS up to 10%
Preferred Qualifications
  • 9 years of experience with a Bachelor of Science in the Engineering field or significant equivalent experience (i.e. EE, CIS, CPE, MIS, IT).
  • Effective communicator with excellent writing and presentation skills using Microsoft PowerPoint and Visio drawing tools.
  • Must be able to work collaboratively in a team environment with other highly motivated network engineers.
  • Familiarity with network communication products including router, switches, firewalls, Domain Name Servers (DNS) and data encryption products.
  • Active DoD Secret Clearance
  • Prior knowledge of the SMORS/BPP and/or MDA networks or organizations.
  • If candidate has knowledge, skill sets or experience using protocol analyzers/sniffers (e.g., Wireshark, Solarwinds, etc).
  • Experience in DoD authentication & encryption methods/capabilities (KG-175, TACACS+, RADIUS, Active Directory, GEM-X).
  • Experience in Network Management Systems (HP Network Node Manager or Solarwinds) or NAS/SAN technologies (NetApp, or Gigastore).

Salary Range: $83,800 USD - $125,800 USD Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
