The Quality Engineer is a key role within Computershare Business Service technology (CBS) in delivering quality software to our business partners. The software development group within Business Services is Agile. We focus on team and collaboration. We are looking for team members to help us further transform our organization.

A role you will love

Work within a cross-functional software delivery team to deliver new or enhanced capabilities which satisfy expectations and deliver value.

Provide testing leadership and guidance within a collaborative agile team.Enable and coach the team to confidently measure, deliver and improve quality in delivering products.

Take an active part in delivering team commitments and initiate and drive continuous improvement across the wider team

  • Solicit feedback, in order to, clarify/understand requirements and to draw out implied requirements and non-functional requirements
  • Translate requirements into clearly defined test scenarios in order to support development.
  • Apply specialist technical knowledge and experience to define and lead the test approach in order to mitigate the risk of change.
  • Provide continual feedback on product quality to the team and stakeholders to enable them to make informed decisions.
  • Check that software meets expected behaviours and explore for additional risks.
  • Assure the quality of tasks, services and information provided by your team - through the quality of your own work and the support and mentoring you provide to others.
  • Apply and encourage best practice and initiate improvements and innovation in technologies/practices within your team e.g., efficiency in the development process or improved customer experience.
  • Provide guidance, and mentor colleagues to enable them to contribute to the team's objectives. Regularly share knowledge with the wider community across CTS.
  • Communicate effectively with a variety of technical and non-technical audiences to: share knowledge and ideas; provide updates; influence; challenge; and take on feedback.

What will you bring to the role?

Essential:

  • 3+ years' experience in Quality Testing
  • Have specialized testing skills in order to work collaboratively within their software development team (manual and automated testing).
  • Familiar with functional, unit, integration, smoke, and regression testing concepts.
  • Be able to work within a cross-functional software delivery team to deliver new or enhanced capabilities which satisfy expectations and deliver value incrementally.
  • Solicit feedback in order to clarify/understand requirements and to draw out implied requirements and non -functional requirements.
  • Translate requirements into clearly defined test scenarios in order to support development.
  • Assure the quality of tasks, services and information provided by your team - through the quality of your own work and the support and mentoring you provide to others.
  • Work within the development team to follow Agile practice for software development by participating in agile ceremonies e.g., backlog grooming backlog grooming, daily stand-up, sprint review and sprint retrospective.

Preferred:

  • Agile knowledge and experience
  • TFS/MTM or Azure DevOps knowledge and experience for work management as well as testing management.
  • Individual will work with global stakeholders and on occasion will need to undertake activities outside standard office hours.
