Job Description:

Provide day-to-day ground system technical support to Air Force customer, supporting the custom Satellite Command and Control (C2) application suite. Maintain the smooth operation of the Milsatcom ground system at Schriever Air Force Base (SAFB). Become the Subject Matter Expert on the ground system supporting the Air Force ground engineering group. Learn the ground system hardware and application software, how they interact, and provide technical support to the customer. Investigate and analyze incident summary reports and ground observations to remedy operational problems and provide briefings to the community on the issues, and results of data analysis. Provide technical expertise for anomaly resolution and perform safety-net staffing when complex operations require on-site staffing around-the-clock (24x7) or 1-hour re-call. Staff and support deployed mobile ground stations as needed by the customer. Process ground system archivedata and generate reports for community awareness and associated metrics. Perform long-range planning for critical events, such as spacecraft upgrades orpayload uploads. Provide hardware, software, and database install support and troubleshooting. Provide post-software install checkout and validation efforts.Support launch and early orbit operations as well as Inter-segment test and On-orbit test activities. Coordinate changes for real-time operations with AirForce Mission Commander and other government sub-contractors. Provide updates to crew checklists, technical orders, job aids and day-to-day procedures forAir Force operators. Maintain a lessons-learned tool, including coordinating with the user terminal team. Create trending data for the operational C2 groundsystem by maintaining data reduction tools and performing analysis for metrics generation. Provide engineering simulator development and support by creatingand updating procedures, initial condition files, and scenarios. Provide knowledge retention for ground C2 system creating/updating procedures, updatingjob aids and crew information files and maintaining lessons learned document. Provide pre-ops review board analysis for our Air Force customer leadership.Attend and support customer organized working groups and planning meetings (coordination meetings and discrepancy review boards). Provide coordination with ground user terminal community and other Technical Advisers at Schriever AFB.

Skills

· Basic Qualifications 5 years of related operations support work in a real-time environment.

· Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to work effectively with corporate teammates, government customers, and other organizations

· Ability to quickly learn new, complex systems and become the subject matter expert with moderate training.

Desired skills

· Knowledge of Milsatcom programs and C2 systems. Familiarity with Milsatcom or Advanced EHF operations and operations at VAFB.

· Familiarity with user terminal operations and users. Good understanding of basic networking, Windows, Unix, and Office.

· Ability to obtain a DoD Secret Clearance

· Typical Minimums Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 5 years of professional experience; or 3 years of professional experience with a related Master’s degree. Considered career, or journey, level.

Work Schedule

· 40 hour week – Monday - Friday – Must be available for 24x7 recall within 75 minutes on rotational on-call assignment
