AECOM is actively seeking a Senior Archaeologist/Principal Investigator for an on-call, as needed opportunity (part-time) within our Cultural Resources practice. The Senior Archaeologist is a core member of the Cultural Resources Program in the region, with responsibility for successfully executing projects and leading all aspects of project implementation. This remote position will report to an EPP Greater West Team Leader and will integrate with AECOM’s Cultural Resources team operating out of the Denver, CO office. The Archaeologist may serve as a Field Director or Principal Investigator.  Candidates will contribute to growth of department through marketing pursuits including proposal preparation, interviews, and business development.The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:Managing projects that may include survey, testing, data recovery, and monitoring.Managing and executing archival research, technical report writing, state and federal archaeological permitting, data collection and compilation, and/or GIS mapping.Working thoughtfully and efficiently both independently and as part of a larger cultural resources team.Operating as primary author or senior reviewer, as appropriate.Supervising personnel in the field, office, and laboratory, as needed.Performing project management duties such as forecasting, tracking, accounting updates, invoicing, progress reports, and scheduling.Reviewing contracts for understanding of scope, fee, schedule, and deliverables, and all other contractual obligationsDeveloping work breakdown structure for control and integrity of work to be performed as and defined by the contract.Monitoring and analyzing project costs, commitments, accruals, and changes, and taking corrective action where necessaryLiaising and developing positive relationships with clients and other stakeholdersKnowledge of state and federal environmental regulatory framework, including the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and the National Historic Preservation Act.Organizing data in an efficient and clear manner.Handling multiple tasks and communicating priorities to the Team LeaderOperating as primary point of contact for clients and resource agencies on projects, as neededPerforming client management duties such as recurring status meetings, milestone check ins, and day-to-day interfacingFlexibility and willingness to support multiple projects, including occasional travel.Innovation and a problem solving.Successfully preparing competitive proposals.About AECOM’s Environment Business Line
