Job Duties and ResponsibilitiesWe are seeking a Senior Engineer, End-To-End Test, with a specialty in cloud engineering, to join our new Enterprise Sales Operations & Wireless Product Governance team. This is a technical role, with scope across the entire wireless stack, including wireless networks, IT (including external integrations), and devices. A highly collaborative work style is essential in this role.In collaboration with delivery teams across the DISH Wireless organization, the Senior Engineer, End-To-End Test, will collaborate on the End-To-End test plan, and define and execute the End-To-End test cases, for each product program that goes to market. Through deep engagement with the technical teams, the optimal test scope and test cases will be defined. During test execution, all required validations will be performed, across network functions, IT back end systems, and back office processes, all in the production network; this in order to validate the End-To-End functionality functions as expected, and the targeted customer experience is realized.In this role, you will:
- Define, engineer, and execute End-To-End test cases, focused on how 5G wireless customers interact and transact with DISH Wireless. Set technical targets for test coverage, and identify opportunities for automation, with a focus on execution and on-time delivery at quality;
- Deeply engage with technical teams, to build out the End-To-End test cases needed across back end systems in the cloud, network and device provisioning, and over-the-air functionalities, including what is delivered by third parties;
- Participate and lead troubleshooting and triaging of issues with different teams to drive towards root cause identification and agreement on path to resolution;
- Specialize in cloud functions and systems, including security aspects, and be the team go-to person for all functionalities supported across the DISH cloud footprint;
- Work together to solve the hard problems the right way, and remove or overcome the obstacles to on-time success; get buy-in and alignment across DISH stakeholder teams;
- A deep and proven technical understanding of cloud technologies, the wireless stack, the wireless carrier perspective, as well as wireless carrier network, back end systems, and devices;
- Fluency in technical details of wireless software, cloud technologies, software and tools; proven experience with End-To-End testing of network functions and systems, and delivering tangible results; experience in test automation is preferred;
- Proven experience working across a broad scope of cloud technologies; experience with carrier network functions and systems is preferred;
- General working knowledge in a cloud native-environment, with technologies such as AWS, OpenStack, VMWare, KVM. Familiar with containers and relevant technologies such as Kubernetes, Docker or Openshift;
- Expert level proficiency with AWS services like EC2, RDS, Lambda, ECS, EKS
- Knowledge of using tools, frameworks, and languages such as JavaScript, JMeter, Sauce Labs, GIT, MySQL, Dynatrace, RESTful web services, POSTMAN;
- Highly experienced with Infrastructure-As-Code (IaC) automation tools like Terraform.
- Proven experience working hands-on with AWS Identity and Access Management service
- Solid understanding of AWS Cloud Security best practices
- Familiarity with Cloud security frameworks (NIST, CIS, CCM)
- An independent self-starter mentality, not shying away from ambiguous situations, and addressing challenges quickly through creative problem solving; proven experience working in a test team and supporting teammates through solving the hard problems;
- 5 years of experience in technical validation and testing roles, in a cloud or wireless environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline, or equivalent experience.
