Senior Platform Engineer (Cloud/DevOps)

Job Title:

• We are growing fast and need to take our development and release processes to the next level.
• We are looking for a Senior Platform Engineer to be a critical part of the team that enables application developers to put software into the hands of users in an easier manner.
• As a leader in the Platform team, you will drive the design and development of our core platform capabilities.
• Your responsibilities include partnering with architect, and engineering teams in developing our platform as well as providing best practices and approaches to ensure security, resiliency, and availability of solutions.
• You will be challenged to create strategies that ensure the secure consumption of the platform through continuous innovation, simplification, decentralization, and self-service automation.

• B.S. in Computer Science or equivalent experience
• 4+ of experience managing cloud infrastructure, AWS experience preferred.
• 4+ years of experience with systems engineering and software development
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical information in a clear and concise manner to a variety of audiences.
• Strong experience designing and building multi-tenant IaaS and PaaS cloud solutions
• Strong experience with cloud solution design patterns (microservices, messaging, distributed caching, containers, IAM etc.)
• Must understand Agile/SCRUM methodologies
• Experience with modern API platform design, security practices and data architectures (e.g. event driven architecture)
• Experience with Infrastructure as Software (container orchestration, observability, CI/CD)
• Understanding of systems hardening and secure systems configuration
• Understanding of assorted networking devices/software tools (brocade/cisco etc.) a plus
• Experience with regulatory compliance standards (HIPAA/PCI/SEC/FINRA, etc.) preferred
• 5+ years system administrator with Linux OS a plus
• Strong knowledge of management of databases and data storage solutions a plus

• Provide leadership for all initiatives keeping all compliance, security and regulatory needs satisfied
• Act as the mentor for platform engineers.
• Be a thought leader by staying abreast of current and emerging technologies and industry trends.
• Work with your peers to design and build platform capabilities and incorporate the necessary automations and tool configurations that ensure agile delivery and secure consumption.
• Lead the design and implementation of processes and tools that enable product engineering teams to consume an extensible and scalable infrastructure platform which enforces all needed governance and consistent operational models.
• Be a trusted advisor for initiatives by providing objective, practical and relevant ideas, insights and advice while also building organizational partnerships and networks to ensure comprehensive capabilities are developed with input from appropriate business and Engineering resources.
• Directly support the use and delivery of platform services in the organization.
• Ensure that all platform solutions follow established security and compliance controls
• Maintain existing and future software services code and configuration
• Make recommendations for improvements to existing architecture
• Help implement new technologies for future deployment
• Provide technical guidance, knowledge transfers and mentorship to clients on their platform adoption
• Help implement and improve development CI/CD software pipeline
