Job DetailsThis role offers the unique opportunity to help build an organizational testing strategy from the ground up. While our engineering team has invested heavily in unit testing in our CICD pipeline, work is currently in flight to establish our automation framework and E2E smoke tests of critical functionality which will run as part of every build. You will be responsible for helping build this framework and test suite with our Lead Quality Engineer, as well as testing tickets and "prod patches" as they move through the dev lifecycle.Help implement a strong QE process with automated testing at its coreFor both E2E user flows and REST APIs on the backendDevelop, troubleshoot, and maintain automation suitesTest day-to-day development tickets in an Agile development environment (manually when required)Work with the development team to plan test cases for user stories/featuresAutomate away manual test scenarios wherever possibleTake part in Agile ceremonies with the rest of the dev/product teamQualificationsMust Haves:Good instincts for how to break web-based software (a "breaker's mindset")Working knowledge of source control systems (Git highly preferred)Ability to translate requirements and software design into robust test casesStrong analytical skills, able to research test results to determine causes of bugsStrong communication skills with a pragmatic and proactive attitudeAbility to read and understand basic software code, stored procedures, and SQLExperience with troubleshooting issues in a testing context - interpreting stack traces, verifying data in logs, manipulating data, thinking outside the box to recreate issues, etc.Experience testing a REST-based web application, front and backAbility to write and execute basic SQL queries2-3 years of Quality Engineering experienceCypress/Selenium (browser automation experience): 2-3 yearsBasic JavaScript Proficiency (including concepts like Promises)Nice to Haves:Experience with Postman (or SoapUI)Experience with load testingLocust, JMeter, LoadRunner, BlazeMeter, etc.Experience with performance testingFamiliarity with AWS high-level conceptsEducation:Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, similar technical field of study, or equivalent practical experienceEssential Values & CultureCommitment to extraordinary client service, both external and internal.Humility and desire for continuous improvement.Work ethic and dedication to providing whatever is necessary for high-level execution.Team-first attitude.Integrity and adherence to ethical business practices.Interested in hearing more?
