Job Number: 574 Riverside Research is seeking a Senior Radar Systems Engineer to support our Radar Assessment and Development team in Colorado Springs, CO. This position will focus on providing radar systems engineering, data analysis, and test support to the US Space Force COBRA DANE Phased Array Radar Weapon System and a variety of national radar programs. Our Radar Assessment and Development Group is a collaborative group of System and Software Engineers supporting development, implementation, and assessment of radar system algorithm functionality and mission performance. We provide trusted technical solutions to customers tasked with developing, sustaining, and modernizing assets to meet evolving missions. Job Responsibilities:- Perform radar system and mission performance assessment; including detection, track, object classification/discrimination performance
- Conduct technical data analysis for a wide array of engineering problems involving large-scale radar systems. These may include ground-based and mobile radar platforms.
- Investigate and conduct root-cause analysis of system and software performance anomalies
- Assist with system modernization and system architecture studies
- Provide system test support, algorithm prototyping, and simulation
- Assist with Independent Verification and Validation (IV&V), algorithm prototyping, and simulation
- Investigate and define mitigation of system and software performance anomalies
- Conduct and support system and mission requirements analysis, feasibility studies, system modernization and architecture studies
- Provide acquisition and sustainment systems engineering support for various radar systems
- Develop and present briefings, technical papers and other documents in support of customer needs
- Assist with Business Development, seeking opportunities and supporting business proposals
- Manage customer relationships; presenting reports, providing recommendations, and act as a technical liaison
- Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or related technical field
- Active DoD Secret Security Clearance, with eligibility to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI
- 10+ years of related applicable engineering experience
- Experience working in/supporting a Government program office
- Comprehensive understanding of radar system functionality, performance limitations, and mission support requirements
- Technical expertise in several of the following principles: signal processing, RF wideband or narrowband signatures, software test driven design, migration of legacy systems to modern architecture, and RF energy management, software engineering
- Demonstrated ability to manage customer relationships and identify and pursue emerging opportunities such as BAA's, SBIRs, and IRADs, RFI's & RFP's
- Demonstrated ability preparing and presenting technical papers, summaries, briefings, or seminars for junior to senior level audiences
- Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or related technical field
- Work experience with COBRA DANE, UEWR, BMEWS, PAVE PAWS, PARCS or similar radar systems
- Experience with Missile Defense, Space Surveillance, ISR, and/or Missile Warning mission support and operations
- Expertise with architecture and software pipeline management tools (e.g. System Architect, GITLAB)
- Experience with Project management and tracking tools (e.g. Confluence, JIRA)
- Experience supporting, managing, or facilitating major process cultural change within an organization
- Experience with C/C, Java, SIMULINK
- Proficiency/experience in MATLAB desired
- Certification as a Certified Systems Engineering Professional (CSEP) or Expert Systems Engineering Professional (ESEP)
