Job Description

The Senior Space Mission Architect (SSMA) is responsible for helping shape SEAKR’s strategy to provide unique solutions for our customers. As the SSMA, you will rely on innate knowledge of multiple technical disciplines (space vehicles, mission payloads, software, hardware, and system engineering) to create cogent solutions to solve our customers most challenging problems. Technical integrity and strong customer relationships are critical for this role in order to understand and articulate their challenges and be able to convincingly present out-of-the-box solutions. Your strong knowledge of state-of-the-art capabilities of the industry will be key to assembling industry teamsthat compliment SEAKR’s discriminating technologies to generate competitive offerings.

The ideal candidate will have an establish history of success in in the space community with the desire to join a fast-paced result oriented entrepreneurial team. SEAKR is expanding its core competencies to include space mission prime and payload prime pursuits, and the SSMA will be at the forefront of this inflection.This pivot from primarily a subsystem provider to a mission prime provider has opened the door for many exciting opportunities. Your knowledge of the industry coupled with your desire to help our customers implement their most challenging mission will be foundational for your success. In addition to a strong technique acumen, your knowledge and understanding of profit and loss (P&L), business processes, and financial metrics are essential. As such, you’ll be communicating complicated concepts with business and technical leadership, so both vernaculars will be drawn upon. In this role at SEAKR, you will envision, create, and deliver capabilities never done before.

The ideal candidate will have experience in space missions, system engineering, digital engineering, networking, cyber security, among others. This is a full-time exempt position, that will be “the face of the company” for many of these new endeavors.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

:

  • Collaborate with our customers leadership to understand their challenges and be able to concisely articulate the challenges and SEAKR solutions
  • Research the state-of-the-art capabilities of the space and other industries to develop out-of-the-box solutions
  • Support business development program manager leadership to develop, articulate, and execute a business development strategy with short, mid, and long-term goals, by providing input from industry, market, and competitive analysis, customer needs assessments, customer feedback, product definition feedback, and future mission requirements.
  • Establish and nurture relationships with customers to understand their current and future needs and promote alignment of our current and future capabilities to meet these needs.
  • Help create and define roadmaps and path to fund key technologies through IRAD and customer NRE
  • Create whitepapers of present at trade shows and technical seminars
  • Coordinate with executives to define and execute business development strategies to grow product segment market share and profitability, through market opportunity evaluation and segmentation, value proposition development, product positioning, pricing strategy, and communications strategy development.
  • Support business develop and contribute to campaigns and proposals
  • Must be available to travel for business for up to 25% of the time
  • The candidate will either have Top Secret / Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) with polygraph clearance or be capable of obtaining one.

Qualifications

Education or Formal Training

  • The ideal candidate will have a technical background and at a minimum an Engineering Bachelor’s degree with emphasis in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, and aerospace engineering. A master degree or a PhD in computer science, space technology, communications, cybersecurity or other related disciplines is desirable or equivalent training or professional experience.

Experience

  • Ideal experience is 15+ years of engineering leadership in the aerospace market

Other

  • Must have knowledge of the department of the defense (DoD), NASA, Intelligence Community, and the commercial space industry
  • Must be capable of creating and presenting high-quality presentations for effective communication of architecture concepts, trade studies, design information and complex analysis to customers
  • Experience leading multi-discipline technical teams
  • Experience with successful space segment programs from concept, design, AI&T, launch, and operations

Qualifications

  • B.S. in engineering. M.S. preferred. Business education is
  • 15+ years’ experience in technical-related roles and/or business development

Prefer active Top Secret / Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) clearance, must have ability to obtain clearance.

Additional Information

Compensation: Base salary range is $180,000- $230,000, depending on qualifications. SEAKR has very rich medical, dental and vision insurance plans, along with a generous 401(k) retirement plan. In addition to base salary, employees are eligible for a year-end bonus. SEAKR offers a variety of paid leave, such as vacation, sick, bereavement, and FMLA.
