We are hiring a Sr. Tax Accountant to join our centralized team in the Denver Tech Center, CO, who will be responsible for:Prepare and review federal, state, and local tax returns by gathering information relevant to the tax filing period while coordinating with external firms. This includes Federal/state/local tax returns for corporate, partnership, and REIT returns.Prepare company’s book/tax differences for quarterly and annual accounting income tax provision (ASC740) and related financial statement disclosures. Includes preparing support for deferred, NOL, credit carryforwards and tax account balances as well as tax-related journal entries and corresponding general ledger reconciliations.Prepare tax estimates by reviewing historic, current and future financial information.Modeling potential transactions along with their impact to Aimco and its stakeholders.Analyze transactions and identify areas of opportunity as they relate to federal, state, and local taxation issues.Analyze current processes and look for improvement opportunities.Support the maintenance of REIT compliance across the organization and address/escalate issues as needed.Provide timely and accurate tax support to Finance, Debt, Accounting, Investment Management, Legal, Human Resources, and Senior leadership
