Sewing Factory Seeks Production Manager with Supervision Capabilities

Contract sewing company in Lafayette, Colorado seeks a well-organized Production Manager, including Shop Supervision experience for production of bags, strap assemblies, covers, aviation products, veterinary and animal products, sport bags, bag packs. These are often very technical products, and quality and on-time completion are of high importance. Excellent customer interaction is important.

The qualified candidate for this job will be skilled in sewing, with several years of production experience. Please let us know the types of industrial sewing machines you have used and what types of products you have manufactured.

Duties as the Production Manager include production scheduling and priority planning;

Making frequent quality checks to confirm correct and high quality assembly;

Kitting oversight for in-house and home sewing;

Checking and verifying inventory and materials, and purchasing;

Sewing, as time permits (or deadlines may require!);

Ensuring on-time completion and supervising inspection, packaging, and shipping;

and follow up on post-project paperwork.

Duties include: resolving production issues and personnel problems; planning materials needs; and maintaining a neat and productivity- enhancing, friendly, and upbeat work environment. Spanish language ability is useful, but not required.

· General knowledge and understanding of manufacturing procedures.

· Honest and forthright person with the ability to communicate clearly with fellow employees and customers.

· Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.

· Must be a self-starter, and encourage successful workflow, and maintain a good aura in the shop.

· Must have good attention to detail and quality.

· Excellence in customer relations is very important.

· Planning well for time deadlines, and optimizing production for efficiency without undue stress is highly prized.

Education and/or Experience: Formal training or experience within the sewing and manufacturing industry preferable, and experience in production important. Experience and knowledge of technical design standards very useful. Computer skills are needed for spreadsheets, order entry and invoicing functions.
