Software Engineer - Backend (up to 25% profit sharing benefit)

What You'll Get to Do:

The Software Engineer will be solving challenging and rewarding technical problems, meeting program objectives within the agile development cycle, suggesting ways to improve the architecture and software baseline, and introducing new ways to meet mission needs while working on new technologies, staying customer-focused, and thriving on challenges to build new microservices applications. The engineer will also help maintain and optimize the existing architecture and code baseline while contributing to a positive and upbeat team atmosphere.

You'll Bring These Qualifications:

Education:
  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, or a related field.

Required Skills:
  • A minimum of 3 years of related experience.
  • Developing with modern languages such as: Java, Python, Spring, Groovy, etc.
  • Demonstrated experience building scalable solutions and integrating multiple applications using rapid prototyping and Agile based software development methodologies to solve mission problems
  • Experience designing, developing, documenting, testing, and debugging software that contains logical and mathematical solutions to mission problems
  • Experience writing or contributing to release notes and end user documentation
  • Ability to travel 10% of the time

These Qualifications Would Be Nice to Have:
  • Experience using Elasticsearch and/or Postgres.
  • Experience with development in microservice based architectures
  • Defining, developing and maintaining REST based interfaces.
  • Container orchestration frameworks such as Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Experience with Jenkins CI/CD development.
  • Bonus if you have experience with networking, Redis, Kafka, Grafana, ELK stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana).

Desired Certifications:
  • Current Security+ and/or CISSP Certification.
  • AWS Certification (Developer, DevOps, and/or Architect, etc.).

Pay Range: The proposed salary range for this position is $59,900-$119,800. There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, geographic location, education, and certifications.
