Maxar is looking for a talented engineer that has an interest in software security and helping Maxar to maintain a first-class cyber security posture with our custom developed software. Maxar leverages a variety of tools to help evaluate the software our engineers write, and we are looking for an energetic person to join our team and help manage these tools and guide development teams in making secure software development choices. We are searching for someone interested in software security, security tools, and who wants to be part of a fantastic team to help us manage corporate cyber risk. This is a great opportunity for someone with strong skills in software development, troubleshooting, and system management skills that is interested in solving enterprise-level challenges.

Your Project : The Enterprise Architecture team operates a variety of software security tools used to ensure that Maxar's application footprint conforms to policies, standards, and best practices. Your responsibilities will include installing, configuring, documenting, and operating these tools efficiently and effectively. You will also help the developers that use these tools with questions and issues as well as help the development teams and make sound application security choices in general.

What you'll do day-to-day :
  • Process requests and help answer questions from our internal customers
  • Help conduct audits around tool usage and exceptions
  • Liaise with Maxar Cybersecurity architects, analysts, and operations teams
  • Help Maxar identify and mitigate risks
  • Help Maxar maintain a security first and blameless culture
  • Help Maxar identify security threat actors, their methods, and the need to be vigilant
  • Help Maxar stay current in our thinking and tool selection
  • Learn application security, beyond just compliance
  • Stay current with evolving cyber threats
  • Assist in the identification and evaluation of new tools that will improve the cybersecurity stance of the organization

Minimum requirements for this position:
  • Must =
  • Bachelor's degree in an Engineering field, or equivalent experience. Four additional years of experience can be substituted for a degree
  • At least 2 years' experience programming with Python, Java, or other similar level programming language

These skills would be amazing:
  • Proven skills with both written and oral communication
  • Interest in cybersecurity
  • Experience with security scanning tools (SAST, SCA, DAST)
  • Experience with cloud infrastructure such as AWS
  • Experience with OWASP Application Security Standards
  • Experience with ethical hacking
  • Holding a current cyber security certification

The compensation range for this position is $66,000 to $110,000 annually, dependent on skills and experience.
