- Install operating systems (Windows, Linux) and applications on bare metal systems and virtualized environments including VMware and Citrix
- Update firmware and software on workstations and server hardware
- Download and install new graphics drivers on Windows and Linux
- Create install packages for new operating system versions (Win10, Win11, Ubuntu, RHEL)
- When requested, document steps required to set up equipment and install software including workstations and thin clients
- Install and troubleshoot devices (USB peripherals, graphics cards, storage, memory) on workstation and server test systems
- Manage and use the software test lab test network (DNS, DHCP, Windows share drive).
- Become an expert user of HP Teradici PCoIP and Cloud Access Software Manager (CASM) software applications
- Execute predefined manual tests on HP Teradici PCoIP and Cloud Access Software Manager as specified in written test plans:
- When a test plan is incomplete, work with the QA Manager to add steps or cases to improve the test plan
- Perform ad hoc software testing to find defects not covered by test plan. Work with QA manager to add tests to plan as necessary.
- When a test fails, search the existing defect database for the failure symptom:
- If there is already a defect, add new test results and log files to that defect.
- Otherwise, create a new defect. The defect description must include:
- Steps to reliably reproduce the
- An indication of where the test case does and does not fail.
- If the defect is intermittent, provide as much information as possible to
- All software-specific logs - use bug report scripts for PCoIP
- Collaborate with the software developers assigned to fix defects to duplicate submitted defects
- When the defect cannot be reproduced work with software developers to assist in diagnosis and also to test fixes
- Complete daily progress and estimation updates
