Title: Sr. Engineer, FPGALocation: Fort Collins, CO Duration: Full-timeMust be authorized to work in the US without work restrictionsRemote possible for the right candidateOur client is looking to add a FPGA/VHDL Engineer to their team of engineers who will enable design breakthroughs and drive growth for leading semiconductor and industrial customers. In this position, you will design, modify, and evaluate programmable logic and/or electronic apparatus, components, or circuitry for use in electronic equipment and devices.   • Participates in all phases of the FPGA development life cycle, including requirements analysis, design, implementation, integration, and test of all products
  • Applies computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis concepts and principles in the development of digital design/architecture for the target application.
  • Independently performs advanced digital architecture and design .
  • Works with Systems Engineers and Program Management to decompose system level requirements
  • Supports technical reviews and presents both internally and externally to customers .
  • Works closely with cross functional members of the engineering organization to develop and evaluate interfaces between hardware and software, and operational performance requirements and design of the overall system .
  • Demonstrates and applies comprehensive knowledge of electronics design to the successful completion of complex projects
  • Develops estimates for complex task duration, supporting the development of a project schedule and budget
  • Participate in board bring up and debug for development phases
  • Experience working with control laws, controller development, or controller tuning
  • Develops Testbench procedures, Testbench scripting programs, and related documentation
  • Contributes to determining, estimating, and validating the cost and scope of development efforts to ensure development work performed meets program cost, schedule, and technical constraints .
  • Implement assigned projects and project tasks to provide software engineering solutions including software design, documentation, verification, and validation, used in evaluating, testing and processing high fidelity data acquisition systems
  • Perform technical review, design analysis, development and selection of hardware and mission critical computer software .
Qualifications:
  • Circuit design, documentation and implementation of high-speed digital electronics, FPGAs, and embedded processor systems
  • Strong understanding of synchronous design practices and data flow management (FIFOs, memories, pipelining).
  • Experience in signal and power integrity analysis of digital/FPGA designs.
  • Experience with Xilinx FPGAs and SoCs, Including FPGA tool suites such as Vivado and ISE
  • Experience in developing specifications, and resource requirements for digital/FPGA designs
  • Familiarity with I2C, SPI, PCIe, Ethernet, USB, DDR3/4, etc.
  • Familiarity with C/C and Python
EXPERIENCE:
  • BS in Electrical, Computer Science or Computer Engineering
  • Minimum of 5 - 10+ years of experience
  • VHDL programming experience with FPGAs required
  • Experience with embedded microprocessors within FPGAs desired
  • Hands on FPGA development working in cross-functional teams
  • Experience developing FPGA test benches for test/validation purposes desired
  • Primary HDL experience in VHDL is essential
  • Familiar with Xilinx Development Tools
  • Hands-on laboratory experience is critical and required. Specifically experience with Logic Analyzers and Oscilloscopes
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required
