We strive to expand global access to care and reduce variability through robotic and analytics solutions.A Day in the LifeLocated in the Medtronic office in Boulder, CO; as the Sr. Embedded Software Engineer you will lead and/or participant in the embedded software development efforts in the Software Center of Excellence of the Surgical Robotics Organization, working in a fast-paced environment with a group of embedded software engineers and collaborating with cross functional teams to complete requirements definition, design, code implementation, unit test, and system verification and validation.Must have: Minimum qualifications:Bachelors degree and a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.Nice to have:As an ideal candidate, you will have any or all of the following experience:Experience in developing and commercializing embedded software products in the fast-paced RD environment, deep understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and best practices in the medical device industry, experience in providing post product support. Experience in Agile/Scrum/SAFe software development in medical device industry.Experience in hands-on development and troubleshooting on embedded targets using C or C.

Experience in embedded software development in medical device industry.

Experience in the test-driven development methodology and unit test.

Minimum of a BS in a technical discipline, preferably software related: Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Control Engineering, Electrical Engineering.Master or Ph.D. degree in related discipline preferred.

4+ years experience in software development with custom microprocessor electronics such as BLDC motor drives and common microprocess communication protocols.

Experience with software development interfaces to FPGA based program logic is a plus

Solid understanding and appreciation of SDLC process and tools (JIRA, Git, JAMA, etc.)

Experience in a regulated industry (medical device or avionics) is preferred.

Experience or basic understanding of surgical robotics is a plus.

Experience working with the global/multi-development sites environment is a plus.
