Staff Accountant

Based in the Centennial, Colorado region, this company offers an engaging and mulit-faceted short-term contract / temporary opportunity where effort is rewarded. The Staff Accountant is responsible for preparing monthly and year-end closings, journal entries, fixed asset maintenance, bank reconciliation, and general ledger reconciliation. A very involved position, this role produces Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. During the monthly close, many aspects of internal reporting will be your responsibility. In addition, your responsibilities include communicating with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, playing an active role in compliance, and reviewing schedules for the reporting processes.Your responsibilities

Assist in monthly financial close workbook preparation, including annual closing process

Take part the in implementation and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures, ensuring compliance with GAAP

Maintain monthly payment schedules

Offer succinct analysis on a wide variety of financial data and communicate it in a clear and concise manner

Execute month end close, journal entries, with little supervision

Manage the design and creation of balance sheet analysis and communicate reports to management

Keep up fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation

Maintain intricate journal entries and account reconciliations including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses and payroll

Be a part of various department-wide initiatives

Ad-hoc reporting and special projects, as needed Requirements - 3+ years of recent and relevant accounting experience

Self-starter with efficient time management and organizational skills

Proficient with spreadsheets and databases

Month end closings experience required

Solid understanding of Credit Card Reconciliation

Construction Accounting experience

Foundational knowledge in Job Cost

Strong attention to detail

Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills

Working knowledge of spreadsheets and databases

BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics

Experience working in a dynamic and changing company environment a plus

Ability to prioritize work and balance multiple projects and deadlines

Experience with ERP systems

Critical thinking skills and the ability to retain complex work directions
