Position : Storage adminLocation : Denver,CODuration : 12 months Your Role and Responsibilities Infrastructure Engineer/Architect are key interfaces to Clients (DISH/Sling engineering) teams and are responsible to develop convincing technical solutions. This requires for them to work closely with clients for multiple partners - vendor teams to architect the solution.Job role requires sound technical knowledge, proven business acumen and differentiating client interfacing ability. Infra engineers are required to anticipate, create and define an innovative technical solution which matches customer's needs and DISH's tactical and strategic requirements. Configuration and Troubleshooting Responsible for planning, designing, integrating and driving large-scale SAN and NAS solutions. Manage complex project. Act as a final contact for any technical issue for the DISH engineering teams. Drive Critical/Major incidents and involve in RCA preparations. Responsible for planning and capacity management of storage infrastructure. Responsible for implementing DR & Chaos engineering solutions and performing periodic tests. Responsible for addressing performance and replication related issues. High-Level Scope of work • Provide multi-level technical support in defining, developing and evaluating storage products to meet DISH needs• Support these activities by diagnosing, reproducing and fixing software and hardware issues• Allocate storage to new servers as needed. Maintain reports on disk utilization, availability and growth patterns• Provide recommendations to improve the storage infrastructure and fix cause for critical issues• Ensure the appropriate storage level provisioning is maintained• Improve Observability maturity & enhance monitoring of storage infrastructure and SAN Fabric• Troubleshoot and resolves problems identified through monitoring /user complaints• Explore, define, plan, execute and document initiatives that will improve application recoverability• Define the storage hierarchy, implement storage tiers, recovery log and disk storage pool• Test and configure sequential storage pools and volumes• Analyse industry best practices, implement them as required and appropriate• Provide operations and maintenance support within a moderately complex Enterprise Storage environment• Coordinate storage provisioning, provide support of storage infrastructure and services• Manage the day-to-day application of zoning rules to new development to ensure efficiency, accuracy, and fairness for our customers• Automation of TOIL and Orchestrating Runbooks and encourage IAC• Monitor performance through the implementation• Participate in testing, upgrade and configuration of system and services• Evaluate and ensure changes are in accordance with appropriate operating procedures; recommends revisions or changes based upon results• Manage hygiene activities like periodic updates of support packages/patches to maintain integrity• Participate in capacity & Config planning by analysing trends-recommendations, providing support for implementation, troubleshooting and maintenance of storage infrastructure and services• Perform server/storage service backups and any processes related to these systems, regularly• Provides leadership and work guidance to less experienced personnel Core Tasks• Provide storage administration for Isilon NAS , Pure NAS, Pure SAN and AWS S3• Configuring replication from source to destination arrays from Pure storage• Operational Tasks like creating and adding Hosts and Host Groups, creating volumes and assigning them to hosts, creating protection groups for replication purpose• Monitoring the replication status, health checks, performance of the storage arrays (EMC, Netapp, devices and switches, troubleshooting) and reporting on the SAN/NAS environment), pure array• Performing LUN Provisioning, Creating the NFS shares, exporting to UNIX Servers, expanding/removing the LUNS and volumes• Collecting the logs from the storage array level, coordinating with storage vendor, troubleshooting, performance analysis, and issue escalation with vendors• Configuration/Removal active zones, zone members of Zoning, Administration, Aliases, Setup, Troubleshooting Switch port Issues• Hands on experience on for remote replication SRDF/S, SRDF/A and troubleshooting recovering the failure SRDF/S and SRDF/A• Configuring and managing snapshots & Data recovery from snaps• Creating, Managing the Aggregates, Creating, increasing and decreasing the size of the volumes• Scheduling and managing Snapshots, Configure, managing and restoring Snap-mirror relationship• Configuring De-duplication for the volumes for effective space utilization• Storage code upgrades on all storage arrays Basic Qualifications• Have a 4-year college degree in Computer Science / Information Technology, master’s degree is preferred or equivalent professional experience• Industry certifications on storage array and fabric is an added advantage• 10+ years of storage, SAN, NAS, Fabric operations support experience• For Principal engineers and Architect with a 5+ years of storage design, implementation, managing high performing storage and leading a team of 5 or more• Six or more years of technical experience working in a large enterprise setup Other Qualifications • Strong analytical and problem solving skills• Good communication skills to interact with team members, customers, and managers• Good personal computer and business solutions software skills• Leadership skills to guide and mentor the work of less experienced team members• Ability to work independently and as part of a tea
