The Supervisor, Maintenance & Calibration is a hands-on working supervisor role and a subject matter expert for the engine and vehicle emissions testing laboratory. You will be responsible for leading the Maintenance & Calibration (M&C) team in calibrating all related automotive instrumentation (dynamometer, emissions analyzers, and specialty exhaust sampling equipment) in accordance with the Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) and ISO standards. In addition to, providing preventive maintenance of automotive instrumentation and facility equipment.Maintain up-to-date calibrations and preventive maintenance in accordance with CFR and ISO standardsMaintain detailed records of all calibrations and preventive maintenance along with system logs or manuals to document testing or operation of equipmentIdentify and resolve equipment malfunctions, working with manufacturers or field representatives as necessary to procure replacement partsProvide customer support and education, working with users to identify needs, determine sources of problems, or provide information on product useWrite reports or record data on testing techniques, laboratory equipment, or specifications to assist engineersProcure parts and maintain inventory and related documentationReassemble and test equipment following repairsInspect and test systems to verify system compliance with plans and specifications or to detect and locate malfunctionsResponsible for commissioning new equipment, developing necessary training materials for related staff employeesFollow documented procedures to properly execute the calibration of instrumentation equipmentPerform data quality checks on calibrated instrumentationSetup data channel configurations for the instrumentation equipmentResponsible to work with engineering and technician staff to resolve all issuesDirectly involved in immediate team development, coaching, and mentoringOversee staff training and seeks opportunities to improve the safety of the laboratories and processesDevelop and carry out tasks to continuously improve the safety of the operationOversee project execution in coordination with department leadersProvide daily task management for the M&C TeamPromote managerial excellence by improving the existing ISO17025 quality management systemProvide leadership to install, improve, and commission advanced instruments/systems, partnering with other groupsParticipate in the recruiting process of the M&C GroupConsistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance
