Please note that this is a 6-12 months contract position. Candidate must be someone trained in Organic Chemistry; Oligonucleotide would be a plus but not required. Plans and executes experiments to develop products. Makes detailed observations, analyzes data and interprets results. Investigates, creates and develops new methods and technologies for project advancement. Works closely with cross-functional project teams, line management and external partners, and facilitates the transfer of completed development projects into commercial products. Writes and reviews product instructions for use, protocols and technical reports in compliance with Quality Management Systems and Good Laboratory Practices. Maintains laboratory notebooks and provide customer and co-worker technical support. Maintains high level of professional expertise through familiarity with scientific literature. May participate in scientific conferences and contribute to scientific journals. May act as principal investigator in conducting own experiments. Must have a minimum of a 4-year or equivalent in a scientific discipline.JOB LEVEL DESCRIPTIONHighly skilled professional with functional breadth and specialized depth in area of responsibility, plus expertise in complementary fields.Identifies and reduces broad concepts and strategies into structured projects to achieve innovative and effective solutions to critical and complex problems.Leads or contributes to the development of new projects/programs/processes, acting as the key technical contributor for area of responsibility.Self-initiated assignments; operates independently .Consults management on critical issues and long-range goals; determines own tactical and strategic priorities.Uses advanced approaches and concepts to solve complex, high-impact design/development problems where information is seldom available.May be functional/technical team lead, mentor, or trainer to others.May supervise up to three Individual Contributor B (ICB) or combination of ICA/ICB employees.Leads or represents the organization in major or large-scale projects requiring specialized expertise and impacting internal and/or external stakeholders.Primary resource and escalation point for senior leadership and internal or external partners and customers on major policies, plans, and objectives.Job DetailsRequired Qualifications:MS/MA in Chemistry or Biochemistry, or equivalent.2+ years’ experience synthetic organic chemistry.Experience with HPLC purification techniquesExperience with Mass Spectrometry.Practiced in the development and bottling of buffers and reagents, as well as the management of laboratory chemicals and raw materials inventories.Ability to work independently and to execute and troubleshoot new methods.Excellent time management, record keeping, teamwork and communication skills.Computer literacy including proficiency with Word and ExcelDesired QualificationsExperience in solid-phase oligonucleotide synthesis, using and trouble-shooting automated solid- phase synthesizers and optimizing synthetic protocols and reaction schemas.Experience in the optimization of purification protocols for oligonucleotides (RNA and DNA) via HPLC.Experience with Mass Hunter software for data acquisition and analysisHands-on experience manipulating and synthesizing RNA in an R&D environment and practiced in anhydrous and RNAse-free lab techniques.Applicants must provide their phone number.
