Employees in this department support a multitude of programs and activities across the Lockheed Martin Space Enterprise to include commercial and military spacecraft, human and deep space programs, missiles, internal research and development, Centers of Excellence, training development, and other Lockheed Martin Business Units (Aeronautics, Rotary Mission Systems, Missiles & Fire Control, Corporate).Your education and experience will allow you to take on formidable challenges as both an individual technical expert and as a Manager of a team. You will manage employees within at least one of the following Special Disciplines: Survivability, Mass Properties, Human Factors, Nuclear Surety, E3 (EMI/EMC/ESD), ADR (Anomaly Detection & Resolution), and RAMT (Reliability Availability, Maintainability, & Testability). Your responsibilities will be associated with employees concentrated as well as distributed at various geographic sites.As a Special Disciplines Manager, you will: Assist Managers within the department and on programs in building a strong team of individual contributors to plan and successfully execute engineering needs across multiple programs within a geographic location. Partner with Managers and Technical Leaders by:- Managing subject matter experts (SMEs) resources to support to programs, proposal, and various other needs such as surge support or participating in tiger teams as well as longer term assignments.- Performing day to day employee management by fulfilling duties that include but are not limited to assigning work, overseeing that work and workloads, evaluating employee performance, timecard and expense report approvals, etc.- Participating in forecasting needs, recruiting and hiring decisions- Participate in employee development which includes career development, training, and mentoring, etc - Participating in identifying and fulfilling knowledge continuity and knowledge transfer needs Provide technical support and technical leadership in one or more of the Special Disciplines. This support will include participating in or leading as an independent reviewer, tiger teams, proposals, and various other technical support needs Support the full life cycle of programs, for example, to help define the Systems Architecture, Requirements and Verification Baseline, development and flight test hardware baseline, ground and flight test planning, and design maturity milestone reviews. Support includes ensuring designs, from the component level to the system level, will meet performance requirements during ground test verifications and when during mission operationsYou can learn more about Denver, CO by visiting this link.Learn more about Lockheed Martin’s comprehensive benefits package.Basic Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics or related discipline 2+ years of demonstrated experience leading a diverse team on a program/project that includes one or more of the special engineering disciplines 12 + years of demonstrated technical experience expertise on programs/projects that is related to one or more of the Special Disciplines Demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple competing priorities in a highly dynamic environment. Eligibility for a TS/SCI clearance (no clearance needed prior to starting)Desired Skills: Demonstrated ability to successfully interface with Customers including strong presentation and communication skills Demonstrated ability to build effective relationships within programs, with other enterprise organizations, and with customer personnel Experience with leading medium to large collaborative engineering teams to successful completion. Experience in full life cycle Aerospace programs and independent review teams Experience working with subcontractors Demonstrated ability to build, maintain and coach a team which includes the execution and evolution of a business rhythm that effectively communicates and achieves program objectives and priorities. Demonstrated experience with developing and delivering technical training and knowledge continuity.
