Description: Job Title: Tactical Data Links Field Service EngineerJob Location: Colorado Job Code: CS20222012-94929Job Schedule: 9/80L3Harris’ Communication Systems segment is currently seeking a Tactical Data Links Field Service Engineer. This position will be based in Colorado. Position Overview: As a member of L3Harris, you will be providing technical support in the areas of Link-16, TACAN and Tactical Targeting Network Technology (TTNT) applications, engineering, integration, installation, testing, and analysis of the MIDS Joint Tactical Radio System (JTRS) and the MIDS Low Volume Terminal (LVT) to both international and US customers. This role will report directly to the Engineering MIDS and is responsible for providing on-site support, phone support, installation, and integration support for MIDS LVTs and MIDS JTRS radios and assist in classroom instruction with our L3Harris Instructor staff.Essential Responsibilities: Travel to customers locations and support their activities for extended periods of time (up to four (4) weeks) for field support, integration and installation support and product demonstrations and training courses.
Act as the primary contact for support activities with the customer, as well as coordination with Viasat development engineering, manufacturing teams to address all manners of technical improvements, radio waveform developments and technical issues that need to be shared.
Additionally, you will help to integrate existing and new operational MIDS/LINK 16, and JTRS compliant radios, support equipment, and create documentation based on integration and installation efforts, and will also provide TDL engineering support to include: terminal level pre-screening, expediting terminal repairs, software reprogramming and coordinating Return to Vendor repairs for the MIDS Depot.
Demonstrated background in Military Radio Communications
Joint Interface Control Officer/Interface Control Officer or equivalent experience
Knowledge of MIDS LVT Host systems and Platform Types
Demonstrated ability to work autonomously at a customer’s location for up to four (4) weeks at a time
Ability to travel up to 75%
Required (Basic) Qualifications:Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience.
4 + years of experience with Tactical Targeting Network Technology (TTNT)
Preferred Qualifications: Experience with MIDS-LVT
Basic understanding of datalink networking and Cisco Routing, IP Networking/VLAN Setup
Understanding of software reprogramming of military radios
Experience with military training requirements and standards
Training certifications such as Master Training Specialist, Military Instructor Training qualifications
In compliance with Colorado’s Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the salary range for this role in Colorado is $72,000 - $134,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
