Position: Clinical Laboratory TechnicianPosition Summary:Assists with and performs duties related to the function of testing, recording of data, and releasing of results.The work schedule for this position is 7:00am-3:30pm.Essential Job Duties:Participates in specimen testing according to established procedures working under the technical oversight of a Clinical Lab Scientist.

Performs preventative maintenance on equipment, documents PM appropriately, makes minor repairs and immediately contacts appropriate personnel for problems requiring more complex repairs.

Documents all activities as necessary including preventative maintenance logs, instrument function checks, troubleshooting, and quality control to ensure regulatory compliance.

Pipettes samples and reagents using calibrated and approved automatic syringes and dispensers.

Records dates of receipt, in use, and expiration for all reagents, kits, controls, and standards used for assigned assays.

Demonstrates and develops an ever increasing understanding of laboratory medicine and the clinical significance of laboratory results.

Troubleshoots simple assay problems and provides suggestions to management as warranted.

Trains lab personnel on departmental procedures and company policy and procedures.

Adheres to the standard operating procedures and safety requirements of Labcorp, CLIA, CAP, ICH GCP, and other regulatory bodies.

Required Education/Degree :Bachelor’s Degree in a Life Science field of study or a related Scientific fieldRequired Certification/License:N/ARequired Work Experience:None required. Previous laboratory experience in an academic or commercial environment is preferred.This job description reflects the essential functions of the position and excludes those that may be incidental to the performance of the job.
