pureIntegration is seeking a Telecom Network Engineer II to be responsible for test and turn-up of all new ethernet circuits in a commercial services environment, deploying metro ethernet CPE configurations as well as troubleshooting complex issues in all regions of the client's network. The Telecom Network Engineer will work as a part of a highly specialized Metro Ethernet Network team, in an inbound/outbound Contact Center environment resolving all first-contact issues and escalations for client's largest customers in an organized and timely fashion.You will be joining an entrepreneurial team for a Fortune 500 clients looking to dramatically impact the customer experience. - This position requires the ability to interpret large amounts of complex data and network engineering tools and designs.
- Effectively troubleshoot issues, access numerous systems, databases to provide status updates and resolution in accordance with established practices and procedures.
- They are also required to contribute to their cross-functional team and act as a resource for colleagues with less experience.
- They will be capable of determining their own work priorities throughout the day depending on phone volume, work task queues, and special project timelines.
- Demonstrate proficiency in all service and equipment types
- Validate and implement CPE configurations for new Metro Ethernet service
- Review and quickly understand customer needs and expectations during customer calls
- Troubleshoot and resolve CPE issues as needed during installs
- Test and turn-up new circuits in a production commercial services environment, in accordance with all practices
- Ability to effectively utilize telnet/SSH, ticketing systems, and CLI
- Demonstrates knowledge of physical equipment such as switches, routers, or transport equipment
- Successfully conduct change orders including bandwidth upgrades and downgrades, disconnects, and COS changes
- Escalate issues with relevant notes and research, in a timely manner
- Open and update service tickets in database/tracking systems
- Consistently exercise independent judgment, discretion and sound communication practices in matters of significance
- Must be able to work nights, weekends, and variable schedules as necessary
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
- Experience working with Century, CCOM and TTS Remedy
- Education Level: Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent
- Certifications: CE-A required. CE-P, MEF, CCNA or JNCIA preferred
- Basic knowledge of networking concepts and understanding of the OSI model
- Ability to handle both internal and external customer interactions while providing outstanding customer service
- Ability to work quickly and efficiently under pressure
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Display reliability and a good attendance record
- Ability to maintain a positive attitude, even in difficult situations
- Ability to effectively communicate results of troubleshooting in an accurate and concise manner
- Innate ability to pay close attention to detail
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineer or similar
- Generally requires 2-5 years related experience
