OverviewBowhead seeks a Training Specialist to support the United States Army Space and Missile Defense Command (USASMDC), Space and Missile Defense (SDM) Center of Excellence (SMDCoE) also known as the US SMD School. SMD School (SMDS) core functions include: 1) Educate, train, and develop leaders for Space and Missile Defense operations; 2) Develop Army Doctrine for Space, High Altitude, and Global Missile Defense; 3) Develop individual and collective training tasks for Space and Missile Defense operations; 4) Train and educate the Army at large in Space and Missile Defense; and 5) Execute the US Army’s Quality Assurance Program to ensure standards are met in the education, training, and leadership development of Soldiers and Civilians.This position will provide support to the Army Space Training Division (ASTD).Responsibilities Provide subject matter expertise and knowledge of space capabilities and support to Army operations. Participate as instructors and technical experts in support of MTTs providing home station training, as well as facilitate contested space environment generation at various training venues. Required to operate tactical and non-tactical vehicles under adverse weather conditions, off-road, and using night vision devices. Conduct research on new threats to current Army space-enabled capabilities, update existing training materials as necessary, and develop new training materials after analyzing the results of the research. Research shall include coordination with the SMDS training divisions to ensure training materials updated or developed are current, accurate, and aligned with Army School institutional training materials. Coordinate with FORSCOM G39, ARCYBER, Electronic Warfare Home Station Training leads, related/supporting mission area leads, and identified training units, to ensure integrated Home Station Training is provided to support operational unit training requirements. Conduct training on electromagnetic interference (EMI) recognition and visualization using both closed-loop and open air D3SOE generating training aids, devices, simulators, and simulations. Conduct training on EMI mitigation tactics, techniques, and procedures, to include individual and crew equipment preparation for operation in a denied, degraded, and disrupted space operational environment (D3SOE). Develop, update, and provide training on planning considerations for space-enabled capabilities and D3SOE operations in conjunction with the standard Home Station Training POI. Participate in Field Training Exercises to provide D3SOE effects generation. This shall require work in a non-garrison environment and may require the transportation and movement of TADSS weighing up to 50 pounds. Support ASTD Institutional Training Domain or other School led training events with the provision of D3SOE effects generation as requested. Conduct after action reviews (AAR), either in support of a government lead or independently, and report the results of the AARs for use in identification of trends for use in revision of training content as needed. Provide Executive Summaries (EXSUMS) following all planning events and event execution. Travel to conduct training as required.Qualifications 12+ years of space related military experience as an NCO or Company Grade Officer or a Bachelor’s Degree. Understanding of Space Fundamentals. Experience and understanding of military operations. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Experience using Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. Previous instructor-facilitator experience. Ability to brief higher ranking officials. Understand the MDMP process. Ability to articulate space to non-space personnel. Knowledge and understanding of the ADDIE model. Ability to travel up to 50%.Desired Knowledge/Skills MOSQ: FA40, Space 200, ASCBC, Space Operations Course, or other relevant space courses. Graduate of a military instructor training course (CFD-IC, ITC/SGITC, FIFC, ABIC, AFBIC, etc.).SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Must currently hold a security clearance at the Secret or Top Secret/SCI level.
