Pay and benefits for employees represented by a union are outlined in their collective bargaining agreement.Job posting is short term (e.g ., 6 months or less)Position Purpose:Leads the development and operations of ESS' hazardous waste treatment and recycling facilities across the US. Optimizes existing assets, fosters continuous improvement, and enables growth. This role is responsible for identifying new markets and technologies, evaluating and potentially developing these technologies at ESS' permitted hazardous waste management facilities, and ensuring increased waste treatment capacity and profitability.Primary Duties/responsibilities:

Oversee the day-to-day operations of 4 high-volume fuel and reclaim facilities, ensuring efficiency, safety, and compliance with all relevant regulations.

Develop and implement strategies to optimize existing assets and improve operational performance.

Manage and mentor general managers and operational staff, supporting and managing their individual performance, growth and development

Oversee the P&L of the 4 facilities

Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive data-driven decision-making

Oversee the development and implementation of maintenance programs to maximize asset longevity and reliability.

Manage capital projects related to facility upgrades and expansions

Develop and implement new processing/treatment technologies and innovations

Optimize existing assets and improve operational performance to maximize treatment capacity, efficiency, and profitability

Identify and pursue opportunities for growth in waste treatment capacity and new revenue streams

Lead the transformation of the ESS' facility network to ensure standardization and alignment with growth objectives.

Collaborate with business development to ensure operations meet customer needs and with other departments to align operational goals with overall business objectives

Participate in due diligence reviews of potential new additions to the facility network and integrate new facilities into the ESS' hazardous and nonhazardous treatment network.

Adapt Veolia's global operations to support the development of new capabilities in the US.

Build alliances within and external to the hazardous waste management industry and stay informed about industry trends and emerging technologies to maintain a competitive edge

40% domestic travel expected and some international travel may be required

QualificationsEducation / Experience / Background:

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Business, or related field required; MBA or relevant advanced degree preferred.

15+ years of progressive experience in operational management within the hazardous waste industry, chemical, oil and gas industry, or related industries, with a minimum of 10 years in a leadership position.

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:

Proven track record of successfully optimizing operations and driving profitability.

Ability to think strategically and execute tactically.

Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire, motivate, and lead teams to achieve ambitious goals.

Strategic thinker with a clear understanding of market dynamics, industry trends, and customer needs.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, capable of utilizing data and market insights to drive decision-making.

In-depth knowledge of environmental regulations and compliance requirements.

Experience with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.

Strong financial acumen and experience managing budgets and P&L statements.

Exceptional negotiation and communication skills, capable of building and maintaining effective relationships with partners, clients, and internal stakeholders.

Excellent project management skills

Ability to work with a multitude of internal and external stakeholders

Required Certification / Licenses / Training:

Must have a valid driver's license
