Responsibilities include:Wi-Fi CPE DevelopmentWe are seeking a Wi-Fi Engineer to join our Wi-Fi CPE Development team in Englewood, Colorado. We define, develop, and test the hardware and software on Spectrum Advanced In-Home Wi-Fi routers deployed to millions of customer homes across the United States. Ideally, we are looking for a skilled Wi-Fi Engineer with a good understanding of RF principles, IEEE 802.11 protocols, Wi-Fi test equipment, and object-oriented programming principles.Responsibilities
  • Research & development of wireless technologies and solutions for use in customer-premises Wi-Fi equipment deployed in carrier networks
  • Defining requirements for Wi-Fi hardware and features
  • Developing test plans and test cases to validate proposed requirements
  • Identifying root causes of RF/wireless issues encountered with equipment deployed in the lab, at test houses, or in production networks
  • Understand and administer wireless test equipment
  • Analyze and process test results
  • Develop software and tools to interact with cloud services
  • Working with vendors to ensure adequate support and resolution of bugs and new feature implementation
QualificationsMust have:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Computer, Electronics, Wireless, or RF Engineering
  • 2+ years of experience in developing and testing wireless products
  • Understanding and working knowledge of Wi-Fi protocols and standards (IEEE 802.11a,b,g,n,ac,ax,be)
  • Proficiency in Linux and scripting
  • Proficiency in Python and/or C
  • Ability to troubleshoot issues methodically and find the root cause
  • Familiarity with Wireshark and packet capture analysis
  • Familiarity with data networking (OSI model, protocols, routing and switching)
  • Experience using data visualization tools such as Pandas, matplotlib, Excel, etc.
  • Familiarity with RF principles and communications theory
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills
  • Willingness to work in a lab environment
  • Ability to work with colleagues across teams
Desirable to have:
  • Master’s degree in Electrical, Computer, Electronics, Wireless, or RF Engineering
  • Background in electrical engineering or telecommunications
  • Experience in wired and/or wireless networking
  • Experience using any of the following platforms: Ixia Veriwave, Octoscope Octobox, Spirent, Rohde & Schwarz
  • Experience with cloud-connected Wi-Fi systems and equipment, including Wi-Fi controllers
  • Experience with Wi-Fi functional, performance, and/or stability testing
  • Familiarity with data science techniques for analyzing large datasets
