Seeking a technologist with a WiFi networking background to take on a WiFi Architect role.DUTIES• The day to day life will be investigating new product introduction, deploying new WiFi software release packages with fellow engineers, and providing technical guidance for high priority defects identified in testing environments. • Weekly collaboration with vendors and internal teams will be required to keep the road map aligned and on track.SKILLSThe ideal candidate will have a significant WiFi and network engineering background. Industry WiFi certifications are preferred.Network Engineering (CCNA level)o IPv4o IPv6o NATo DHCPo Packet CapturesSystems Administrationo Linux experienceo Virtualization experience (VMWare vSphere 6/7 preferred) WiFi Architectureo Deep understanding of 802.11 WiFi protocolso Can explain evolution of WiFi (4, 5, 6, 6E, and 7)o Deployed large scale WiFi solutions for Enterprise, Muni, or Service Providero Familiar with Cisco WLC, Cisco 9800 (XR), Meraki, Mist, and / or Ruckus (at least deep knowledge of one vendor)o Can proficiently document architectural designs involving WiFi and Network Engineering conceptso Understanding of AP call home process (controller or cloud discovery features based on DHCP, DNS, etc)
