Description We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for an Accounting Clerk role based in East Haven, Connecticut. The successful candidate will be key in supporting our finance operations in a manufacturing setting, with a focus on accounts payable/receivable, general ledger tasks, and inventory control assistance.Responsibilities: Handle accounts payable and receivable, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in all transactions. Execute general ledger tasks, maintaining the integrity of financial data and record keeping. Assist in inventory control, contributing to effective resource management. Process invoices and manage payments, ensuring all financial transactions are recorded accurately. Conduct financial analysis, providing insights that support decision-making processes. Ensure compliance with regulations, adhering to established standards and procedures. Utilize skills in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and financial reporting. Perform bank reconciliations, verifying and correcting data as necessary. Manage customer credit applications, maintaining accurate records and solving customer inquiries. Monitor customer credit accounts and initiate action for delinquent payments. Requirements Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is a must for managing data and financial records. Experience in Bank Reconciliations is needed to ensure accuracy of all banking transactions. Knowledge and experience in handling Accounts Payable (AP) tasks is required, including processing invoices, vendor communication, and maintaining AP records. A minimum of an associate degree in Accounting or a related field is required. Strong attention to detail and accuracy in all aspects of work. Excellent organizational skills for managing multiple tasks and deadlines. Good communication skills to interact effectively with team members and other departments. Familiarity with accounting software and systems is a plus. Knowledge of basic accounting principles and best practices. Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial information. Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
