Description Job Description:We are a small but growing manufacturing company seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Accounting Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a key role in maintaining the financial integrity of our company by handling daily accounting tasks, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, and payment processing. This position requires a hands-on approach and the willingness to be cross-trained in other departments to support our dynamic business environment.Key Responsibilities:

Bank Reconciliations: Perform timely and accurate reconciliations of bank accounts to ensure financial records are up to date.

Payment Processing: Handle credit card payments received through Shopify and other online platforms, ensuring accurate recording and allocation.

Receipt Management: Collect and enter credit card receipts into accounting systems such as Navision and QuickBooks.

Journal Entries: Prepare and post journal entries to support month-end close processes and ensure compliance with accounting standards.

Cross-Departmental Training: Be open to learning tasks in other departments to assist with coverage and gain a broader understanding of company operations.

Accounts Payable (AP) Functions:

Invoice Processing: Review, code, and process vendor invoices in a timely manner, ensuring accuracy and proper authorization.

Payment Management: Prepare and process payments, including checks, ACH transfers, and credit card payments, while adhering to payment schedules.

Vendor Communication: Address vendor inquiries, resolve discrepancies, and manage vendor account reconciliations.

Accounts Receivable (AR) Functions:

Cash Application: Apply cash receipts to customer accounts and manage outstanding balances.

Invoicing: Generate and send invoices to customers, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery.

Collections: Monitor overdue accounts and assist in the collection of outstanding payments.

Requirements

Qualifications:

Adaptable and resilient, ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Confident enough to challenge authority (diplomatically), but humble enough to admit and own mistakes.

Not just willing to roll-up sleeves, but wants to and really help build the business.

Likes to be stretched and to learn.

Hands-on leader but not a micromanager.

Quality & timeliness are common characteristic of your work.

Deep desire to be an enabler for the business, not a gatekeeper.
