Business Analyst

Position Description CGI is seeking to hire a Business Analyst with strong P&C Insurance experience to join our Commercial Insurance team.

We are seeking an experienced individual in P&C insurance business processes, workflow, and systems. Ideal resource with have a solid experience working with Underwriting, Operations, Product Development, and I/T to define and implement solutions.

Candidate must be based in NY,NJ,CT, or PA.

Your future duties and responsibilities The Business analyst will do solution analysis and design, and the requirements development processes, for the implementation of system and process changes for new and existing functionality on Commercial Insurance platforms, including those supporting our external capabilities, internal workflow / operational support, and product implementations. This person will collaborate with and coordinate the efforts of our business team (Product Development, Operations, Compliance, Legal, Actuarial, Marketing, etc.) product team and IT system implementation teams. Experienced in User acceptance testing.• Analytical Thinking (e.g., separating a complex whole into its parts or elements to resolve problems or issues).• Express concepts (e.g. business, technical, and other), ideas, insights, opinions, and conclusions, so that others understand or are persuaded to act.• Investigate and research multiple sources to expose details and complete information about resources, issues, problems, and so forth. Conducts in-depth research, asks probing questions, and transcends surface issues.• Plan and organize work to achieve desired outcomes. Demonstrate flexibility in applying different approaches to changing work demands. Show confidence in own abilities to meet challenges and can maintain performance under stress

Required qualifications to be successful in this role• 5 years Business Analysis• 3+ of experience in Property/Casualty, Commercial lines• Desktop applications and software tools• Experience with P&C Insurance industry, or with insurance industry applications or tools preferred; personal and commercial lines products.• 5+ years of progressive experience in gathering requirements, testing, and supporting business/technology applications and/or systems preferred.• Experience in software development lifecycles and methodologies, Agile delivery models, with emphasis on Scrum process framework. Agile/Scrum experience preferred.• Experience interviewing business sponsors and other stakeholders to gather and document requirements as stories into functional/non-functional specifications to include objectives for initiative, business and functional requirements, design/data models, page/process flows, success metrics, and use cases.• Experience partnering with multiple small teams with high visibility across products / business capabilities with experience identifying and managing dependencies within and across teams preferred.• Must possess strong organizational and prioritization skills and competence and capacity to handle multiple initiatives while managing conflicting priorities, paying close attention to detail, and handling multiple tasks while demonstrating accuracy and thoroughness.• Basic experience with Agile tools Confluence and JIRA preferred.• Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 preferred.• Some knowledge of databases or willingness to develop skills: SQL, reporting, extracts.

Education: Bachelor's Degree in CS or Related field
