Over the course of the next 3 years, the NSM will up-grade and overhaul the districts Point of Sale (POS) cafeteria management system. In turn, these monies will be used to streamline efficiencies and minimize the manual labor activities in record keeping that are currently in place in our cafeterias and central office locations.Database/Systems Administrators are responsible for managing and maintaining the hardwired lines and wireless connections in a system and the hardware that hooks up to that system. Applicants are expected to have at least ten years of relevant work experience, ideally in a school or educational agency, managing school nutrition data applications, servers, LAN/WANs, and API/SFTP configurations, and automated processes. Job duties specific to a Systems Administrator may include:Analyzing and figuring out the system needs of an organizationInstalling hardware and software for the networkKeeping systems operating efficiently by performing any necessary upgrades and repairsPlanning a strategy to maintain system security on the computers and the network as a wholeOptimizing and evaluating the system regularlyAssigning and updating security permissions for the system networkTraining or directing users on the correct use of software and hardware within the systemPerforming problem-solving tasks when alerted by a user or monitoring systemTracking, installing and configuring software updates and performing database backups to restore and protect user information.
