DevOps Engineer

Software Guidance & Assistance, Inc., (SGA), is searching for a DevOps Engineer for a CONTRACT assignment with one of our premier Financial Services clients in Stamford, CT. Responsibilities :

• Focuses on numerous components of the electronic trading application environment.
• Plays a critical role in adapting and improving the software to meet the needs of the US Rates business as Fixed Income markets continue to move towards lower latency electronic execution.
• T he role requires working with global counterparts to build the platform for colo tuning, future cloud migration, helping to maintain and upgrade App infrastructure, working closely with networks, UNIX SAs, DBAs and delivering SDLC framework to App teams.
• Maintaining and enhancing an SDLC platform for electronic trading, which is globally distributed and runs many 100s of services.

• 3+ years of Java OO server-side (not EJB or Web) development
• Solid understanding of the fundamentals of vanilla Java programming - Multithreading, OO, distributed computing, message-based architectures.
• 2+ yrs experience on CI/CD tools and version control systems like SVN, Git and BitBucket.
• 3+ yrs experience on Unix, Red Hat + Puppet
• Experienced a structured environment such as software house or large team.
• Proven experience of complete project lifecycle, and exposure to Agile methodologies (Scrum).
• Development experience on a large complex codebase
• Ability to work in a Unix/Linux server environment
• Experience of working and developing software in a real-time environment.

• Experience with Improving development practices for team as a whole
• Experience of relevant technologies, including Java, Unit Test, Maven, CI/CD, Git, Red Hat + Puppet.
