Together, we deliver intelligent solutions, inspiring confidence in surgeons to enhance patient outcomes today and tomorrow.We look for leaders who have a clear vision of where we are going and how to get there, bold inclusive thinkers who create new ideas and bring our best solutions forward to benefit our patients, business partners, and customers.A Day in the LifeReporting to the Vice President of Global Marketing, this Director will play a critical role in helping secure the market share position of our $5B Advanced Surgical Instruments business.Working across the market, consultant spectrum, and organization to deeply understand the competitive landscape you will shape the direction and execution of key strategic initiatives to secure and grow our market share positions. As an architect of competitive defense plans you will work within our organization and outside organization to deeply understand the surgical portfolio landscape and how are our current portfolio is positioned. Then in concert with the global downstream marketing organization and other cross functions creating and executing trackable marketing campaigns that effectively share and educate on the benefits of our technologies. Revenue performance and share position are the key metrics to success.This is a mission critical position for our organization. Additional specifics are listed below along with some key questions for consideration.Competitive Insight: Working with our Strategy functions, regional marketing teams, and outside consultants develop a wholistic point of the view of the market, our position in, and future risks.Key questions to answer: Do we have enough information to operate effectively in the market? What new technology or approaches are being developed / deployed and how do they - should they that impact our portfolio of initiatives? What is the narrative that other companies are trying to frame our technologies in and what should our response be?Who are nascent market entrants that we need to be aware of and who are the pretenders? How is the market developing, shifting, changing towards or away from our favor?

Brand Positioning and Competitive Defense Plan: With a full understanding of the market landscape, and in conjunction with the global upstream and downstream marketing team and our portfolio messaging lead, develop a comprehensive rolling three plan to accelerate our market position. Measurable change in brand equity, customer perception, and share position is expected.Key questions to answer: What are the key technology features that most resonate with customers and set our technology apart? What resources are required to execute an aggressive market repositioning plan? Who are the key stakeholders / departments across the organization that will need to support and execute the plan? What market indicators will be measured, how often, and by who?

Integrated Marketing / Messaging Campaigns : The outpouring from the rolling three-year positioning plan will be what we need to say to our target audience in the right cadence to achieve our goals. Working with the global downstream marketing team, marketing communications, regional marketing teams, marketing operations and our legal team you will lead the crafting of the right messages at the right time to be deployed to desired audience.Key questions to consider:What messaging channels are effective in this market and how should those be utilized to this purpose? Who are the personas we need to win, how can they be reached, and with which messages? What guardrails do we need to ensure all this effort isnt white noise?

Must Have: Minimum RequirementsBachelors Degree

10+ Years of experience within the healthcare industry/market

7+ years of managerial experience (People or Programs)

Experience creating and executing IMC(Integrated Marketing Communication)

Experience building financial models

Nice to Have:Bachelors Degree in Marketing, Business, Marketing Communications or Marketing Research

MBA desired

Proven ability to lead without authority, win mind share and influence an organization Demonstrated experience in strategic planning and achievement of business goals.

Demonstrated ability to learn technical information and apply technical concepts

Demonstrated ability to lead and work effectively in a matrix organization.

Exercises superior judgment in planning, organizing, and executing work, monitors performance and reports program status

Proven ability to work effectively as a team member across cross-functional teams

Highly effective written and verbal communication skills

Demonstrated prioritization and organizational skills

Ability to rapidly adapt and respond to changes in environment and priorities

Previous product launch, sales, sales management or portfolio communications marketing experience

Knowledge of product development process, and demonstrated leadership in a matrix environment

Strong understanding of surgical procedures and product performance.

Experience in BDL or strategic planning demanding a sophisticated approach to understanding strategic needs, financial/market models, competitive trends and business impact

Ability to manage concurrent, complex assignments under limited direction

Proficiency with a variety of personal computer software applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, Teams, and SharePoint

Anticipated travel is approximately 20% travel time (domestic international)
