Job Summary Dominion Energy is currently seeking an experienced Engineer II or Engineer III for the Reactor Engineering group in the Site Engineering Department at Millstone Power Station in Waterford, CT. The position will be filled at the level commensurate with the successful candidate's education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities. The Reactor Engineer will perform periodic tests of reactor core design parameters and power distribution limits. Duties include providing reactivity management guidance to Operations personnel during plant evolutions as well as performing reviews of design change packages and procedure changes for impact to the Reactivity Management Program. The Reactor Engineer also provides engineering oversight of fuel offload and reload and performs zero-power physics testing following refueling outages. Engineer I candidates will be provided direction and oversight. Engineer II candidates will be expected to lead small, cross-functional groups in solving system problems and planning for future equipment reliability. They are expected to be able to work with minimal supervisor direction. Engineer III candidates will be expected to lead larger, multi-discipline groups in solving system problems and planning for future equipment reliability. They are expected to be able to work independently on assigned tasks. This specific position may lead special efforts to improve and sustain equipment reliability. Perform other duties as requested or assigned. The successful candidate will be required to become a member of the Millstone Power Station (MPS) Emergency Response Organization (ERO) and respond to plant ERO events in a 30-60-minute time frame. Relocation may be offered to the successful eligible candidate. The company is actively seeking United States military veterans and service members who meet the qualifications outlined below.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

Engineer I: 0-2 years of relevant engineering experience.

Engineer II: 3+ years of relevant engineering experience;

Engineer III: 5+ years of relevant engineering experience; A Nuclear Engineering degree or at least one year of nuclear engineering experience is highly preferred; Knowledge and application of engineering theories and principles, concepts, and fundamentals; Requires developmental experience in a professional engineering position; Competency in applying engineering principles, fundamental concepts, practices and procedures requiring some evaluation, originality and/or ingenuity to achieve project objectives; Understands and can apply knowledge of configuration management; Ability to perform engineering calculations using applicable software programs (e.g. Matlab, Excel, etc.); Planning, organizational and project management skills; Ability to develop and exercise leadership skills; Effective decision making skills; Effective oral and written communication skills (includes technical writing); Ability to think analytically and solve complex problems; Ability to interpret codes, regulations and practices; Equally effective working independently or in a team environment. Ability to process information quickly and effectively manage multiple tasks. Note: A partial year of related work experience of 6 months or greater will count as one year toward the year of experience. A Master's Degree will count as one year toward the years of experience. Military service members and veterans with ranks from E3-E5, W1-W2, or O1-O3, plus appropriate equivalent combination of education and years of experience as outlined above are encouraged to apply For placement of a candidate in the Engineer job series, the following criteria must be met: Possess a 4-year Engineering degree from an ABET accredited Engineering program based on the year that the Engineering program was accredited by ABET, or Possess a 4-year Engineering degree from an institution outside of the U.S. which is accredited through the country's own Engineering accrediting body under the Washington Accord as a full signatory, and is a degree that was recognized by the country's accrediting body on or after the date that full signatory status was achieved, or Possess a 4-year degree in Engineering (non-ABET accredited), Physics, Chemistry, Math or Engineering Technology and a post-graduate Engineering degree from an institution where the undergraduate degree in the same Engineering discipline is ABET-accredited based on the year the Engineering program was accredited by ABET, or Holds or has previously held a valid U.S. Professional Engineer license.

Licenses, Certifications, or Quals Description Depending on functional responsibilities and location of position must review ANS 3.1 12/79, ANSI N18.1-1971 or ANSI/ANS 3.1-1993 and DOM-QA-1 as appropriate.
