Responsible for the structural assessments of repairs to commercial engine hot and cold section rotating components.

Knowledge of Integrated Product Development (IPD), Structures Engineering Standard Work (ESW), and the Product Design Review process.

Participate on multi-disciplinary teams to provide design solutions that meet design and life requirements.

Work independently on structural analysis solutions when historical solutions are not available or applicable. Analysis may include both classical methods and detailed Finite Element Analysis (FEA) for strength, stress, vibration, fatigue life, and damage tolerance.

Coordinate with others to advance the technology and improve engineering standard work processes/methods, plus document and present results.

Work schedule: Hybrid, working alternately in-office and remotely

Basic Qualifications

Bachelors' Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Engineering Technology, a related Engineering field or equivalent experience and 2+ years of prior relevant experience using FEM for stress and lifting analysis. -OR - Advanced Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or in a related field.

Minimum GPA of 3.0

Fluent in English (verbal/written)

US citizenship required due to government contracts

Preferred Qualifications

Background in structural analysis.

Working knowledge of ANSYS or other FEA software.

Experience with fatigue and fracture analysis is preferred.

Primary practitioner for structural analysis memos (SAMs).
