Join us.Job DescriptionAECOM is seeking an Environmental Engineer II to support our Remediation practice. The successful candidate will have a background in environmental engineering. This is an exciting opportunity to join our growing team in Rocky Hill!The successful candidate will provide technical skills on projects within the department and will develop strong relationships with the team and clients to enable pursuit of new opportunities. The successful candidate will have the ability to communicate effectively with members of the project team, clients, site personnel and office management, and work both independently and as part of a project team.The successful candidate will be committed to the team's success and growth; will rigorously apply safety policies and procedures; will manage the technical, cost and schedule elements of project delivery; and will effectively manage the quality of field efforts and project deliverables within the bounds of the AECOM Quality Management System.The job responsibilities for the position will include but may not be limited to:

Supports projects and task with data analysis, report writing, preparing work plans and remedial action plans , and contributing to designs .

Assists with technical proposal writing and cost estimating.

Gathers and correlates basic engineering data using established and well-defined procedures.

Support environmental projects working under the supervision of a Project Manager and coordinates efforts of support staff.

Works with a team to develop proposed approaches to solve new problems encountered using modifications of standard procedures or methods previously developed.

Works on detailed or routine engineering assignments involving calculations.

Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule with little supervision.

Qualified candidates must be comfortable with occasional travel and field work support.

QualificationsMINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

BA/BS in Environmental Engineering or related field + 2 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

Valid U.S Driver's License and as a condition of employment, must pass AECOM's Motor Vehicle Records Review

Due to the nature of this work, U.S. Citizenship is required

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Master's Degree in Environmental Engineering or related field

3+ years of relevant experience at an engineering consulting firm.

Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Civil 3-D.

Understanding of Principles and Practice of Engineering Examination (EIT) certification

40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER and current 8-hour annual refresher certification.

Experience with tank, landfill design, and air calculations.

Experience with hazardous waste
