Duties and responsibilities include:
Prepare and clean the vehicle’s surface before painting
Use a wide range of tools including power and hand tools to prepare the surface
Remove rust and other debris from surfaces to be painted
Fill cavities and dents in vehicles to create an even surface
Mask or tape off details and components to avoid contamination and maintain clean lines
Mix paint to achieve desired color and texture
Apply primer and finish coats using spray guns and rub down surfaces between coats
Touch up defective areas of painted vehicles
Use infrared and high-heat lamps to speed up the drying process
Maintain an organized and clean workspace
Follow all safety and health regulations
Order supplies and maintain inventory
