Furniture Upholsterer
Pay up to $30 per hour (DOE)
This role involves the complete process of reupholstering, restoration, and fabrication of various furniture pieces.
Key Responsibilities:
Reupholstery & Restoration: Dismantle, strip, and rebuild commercial and residential furniture (chairs, sofas, benches, auditorium seating, etc.).
Frame Preparation: Inspect wooden frames, make necessary repairs, and secure/refinish exposed wood components as part of the upholstery process.
Foundation Work: Adjust, repair, or replace webbing, springs, padding, and foam to ensure maximum comfort and structural integrity.
Pattern Making & Cutting: Accurately measure, lay out, and cut contract-grade fabrics, vinyl, and leather using patterns or templates, ensuring pattern alignment and maximizing material yield.
Installation: Precisely apply covering materials, stretching, stapling, stitching, and gluing fabric or leather into place using industrial tools and techniques.
Finishing: Apply decorative elements such as piping, tufting, buttons, and trim to ensure a high-quality, professional finish.
Tool Operation: Proficiently operate industrial sewing machines, power tools (staple guns, air tools), and various hand tools (tack hammers, regulators, webbing stretchers, etc.).
