Piper Companies is seeking a

Hybrid NOC Engineer to join a multinational networking organization based in

Hartford, CT . The

NOC Engineer will post-sales on-site support of Network Products and work closely with customers to understand their network design, technical requirements, and support processes.

This role will be onsite in Hartford, CT!

Responsibilities of the NOC Engineer include:
  • Conduct network information gathering workshops with the customer to assess their existing network design and technical requirements for new designs.
  • Familiarize yourself with the customer's organizational structure and support processes to ensure the network's availability and sustainability.
  • Test new designs, features, and functionality in a laboratory environment and develop implementation plans.
  • Verify the correct operation of patches, fixes, and software updates in the test and live network.
  • Troubleshoot equipment and network problems, track cases through to resolution, and handle Return Material Authorizations (RMA) when necessary.
  • Provide regular written reports on the status of design projects, equipment, and network problems to the customer.
  • Train the customer's personnel on configuring and operating Juniper Networks products.
  • Assist in the development of Network Operating and Equipment Operating Procedures.
  • Support the production environment of Juniper products within the customer's infrastructure.
  • Develop secondary skills in other products within the Juniper product portfolio.

Qualifications for the NOC Engineer include:
  • 5+ years of experience in implementing and providing technical support for networking products in LAN, WAN, or Internet services environments.
  • Detailed technical experience in the installation and operation of IP routers, switches, and firewalls, including hands-on experience with management tools and network analyzers.
  • Proficient understanding of IP network protocols, TCP/IP fundamentals, IP subnetting, hierarchical routing principles, routing protocols (OSPF and BGP), routing policies, VPNs, switching technologies, and firewalls.
  • Hands-on configuration and operational knowledge of Juniper Networks router, security, and switching products.
  • Experience with EVPN/MPLS, L2/L3VPN pseudo-wire services, segment routing, virtual chassis configuration, BGP, MPLS, and L2/L3 services.
  • Additional certifications such as JNCIA, JNCIS, JNCIP, JNCIE, CCNP, CCIE, and programming skills for automation work

Compensation for the NOC Engineer includes:
  • Salary Range: $125,000 - $145,000 depending on seniority
